Hey Enzo...looks like men against boys right now. Couple of breakouts by the second line but didn't/couldn't finish...

AT least they got through the 5-3...but the majority of the play has been in the Hawks end - sort of like the last two games against the Wild and the Preds...

Numbers are much closer 5x5 - SAT 8-9, SOG 4-4.

I was just curious so I'm timing offensive zone possession, most entries are 3 to 8 seconds long.

Hawks with 2 20 second possessions
3 15 second possessions and 1 12 second possession

Blues with 2 20 second possession, 1 15 second possession, 4 10 second possessions

So 5 on 5 its been actually even

Toews 0 for 2 in dzone PK faceoffs, Wingels 2 for 2. What's with Ryan Hartman not hitting anymore ??? I saw 2 opportunities for him to take his man into the boards and didn't touch either of them. 5 point night opening night and now he won't hit anymore ??? I think even Edzo commented on it.....and Great to have Eddie O back.

Not a great period, but not terrible road period all things considered. They need to stay out of the box a bit and turn it up a little more, but I think the Hawks press the issue in the 2nd.

The Blackhawks top line is really the top line so far this year, but the other lines need to gain some more traction. The Blues want to keep this game tight and muddle things up, but the Hawks will probably get things to open up here with the long change.

Can anyone help me understand the Hjalmarsson trade? Personally, I feel we should have gotten more. Connor Murphy looks like nothing special. Laurent Dauphin...seems like he might turn out to be a decent 3rd or 4th liner, but considering the very reasonable contract hammer has and the fact that he was extremely underrated, I just don't get why we couldn't have gotten a better package.

And with each passing game its becoming more and more obvious that our opening night win against the Penguins was a mirage, and the team we're seeing on the ice tonight is the team we really are. Sucks facing the truth sometimes.
