On the other goal however MacDonald shouldn't have shadowed Ovechkin. - MJL
The coach said that in their defensive scheme MacDonald did what they want players to do in that situation. Charlie O'Conner specifically asked him about it. |

Does anyone know why hockey players use the word 'obviously' all the time in interviews? |

TIL: Bob Boughner is the coach of the Florida Panthers. I vaguely knew he had been coaching in the CHL at some point, but I missed the memo where he got the Florida gig. - johndewar

It was weird ....not sure I have ever seen that type of coverage in D zone where the d man chases that high. I would assume the center on the play was in the wrong spot? |

The coach obviously doesn't understand the system that the coach wants the Flyers to play. |

If you read the post, that was sarcasm in reference to the many posters who blamed MacDonald for the goal because we have to blame the scapegoatsl. I post numerous times that MacDonald played it right and was not to blame according to the Flyers defensive zone coverage scheme. |

All depends on the defensive scheme they're playing. They were playing man to man. As RD Macdonald is responsible for the LW(Ovechkin). |

Are the high and mighty really debating the one of two goals allowed in an 8 to 2 goal victory?
Honestly, I'd rather you guys make fun of me for being a Luke and Brayden Schenn fan because this is even more sad. |

Looking for some growth and some consistency. It'll be interesting. I think it's a good game to get Sanheim back in. |

I agree. It's almost hard to believe but the team has even more dynamic potential with him in the lineup. I think Manning going in against the Caps was part of a full on stop OV strategy, as we've discussed on the now infamous first goal, and he played well, but Sanheim can do some great things with the puck. Ultimately, it's Hakstol's call and he's pushed the right buttons so far except for the NSH game. We'll see how he gets them prepared for tonight. I'm assuming it's Luongo in goal and he's always dangerous even at this advanced age. |

Your thinking it's too early for a trap game is exactly why it could be a trap game. |

Mandog is more reliable apparently AND the ever popular "Why change the line up after an 8-2 win?"
It's a good thing his folks are in town to see him break into the show. (rumour) |

Lehtera should invite his parents into town. That way Hakstol will be forced to play him.
