They're putting fairy dust on the popcorn now - mayorofangrytown
That's the logical next step to try after the fairy dust of playing an extra year in the AHL clearly ruined Hagg and Laughton. |

I've watched it plenty of times. I don't need to watch it again. The play is designed to draw the defender over to create an opening on the weak side. Manning made the right read. I guess you think that Oshie would lose the ability to skate once receiving that outlet. We want our defenseman to keep a tight gap and challenge in the neutral zone. Well except when a goal is scored. Defense is a team game. Much easier to blame the scapegoat on the ice.
On the other goal however MacDonald shouldn't have shadowed Ovechkin. If he had left him alone and dropped back down and Ovechkin ripped a goal into the net. "Why in the hell did MacDonald let Ovechkin go!" - MJL
agreed on AMAC, well have to disagree on Manning. the first line of defense should be the D, a break in from center ice and expecting D2 to be a winger doesnt work |

I love that "Cote Suite" is still the name for the press box. Guy hasn't played in 8 years and wasn't the first Flyer to ever be scratched a lot, but somehow it just works. Hopefully it stays that way forever. |

It's basic defensive coverage. Asking and expecting defenseman to cover 3 players doesn't work. We'll agree to disagree.

Sanheim needs to be the ultimate professional here. Let's see if he handles it well by answering media questions with the proper platitudes the organization trains them with.
There is more to being a Flyer than play on the ice. Gotta do things the right way round here sonny boy to earn this here starting lineup spot. See that? No I in team.
Now make sure you take a copious amount of notes about tonight's game. Hak expects two full pages, single spaced with proper formatting. |

i attached the video. Manning had no business being where he was, there was plenty of support on Gudas side of the ice, and obvious by the goal, no support where manning should have been.

Attaching the video doesn't do anything. I've seen it umpteen times. Manning did exactly what he should've done. Oshie would've not continued to cut over if Manning didn't cover him, and instead of the chip play to Backstrom, it would've been a 2 on 1 with Oshie and Backstrom or an Oshie breakaway if Manning shaded too far over to Backstrom. Weal's hesitation and getting beat up ice to the net is the breakdown on the coverage. |

Wasn't a very good pinch . Manning took himself out of the play..... really was a defensive breakdown.
