It is hard to say even if Schmaltz will end up being the answer in the top 6 too. He showed signs of it last year, but he played what 16 minutes this season? I hope he ends up staying healthy once he comes back and he keeps generating the way he was.

Here's the bottom line:

Compare the Preds D core(especially when Josi and Ellis return) to the Hawks D core

Then compare the Preds team speed to the Hawks team speed

End of story

I think I've just convinced myself through 2 periods of our 6th regular season game that all hope is officially lost. There is no denying those harsh truths about the Dcores and the team speed.

Keith and Seabrook look like they're both in their 40's

Times have changed, gotta get used to it...

Seabrook again lost on the Nashville goal.

Can't take him at $3 million a year more less $7 for another 6 years. . Bowman better get rid of that deal ASAP! Brutal.

And Hino needs to be on this team. Better than Kero Bouma & Wingels. All 3 of them are Garbage.

Wingles is okay. Kero used to be good idk what happened. Bouma doesn't belong in the NHL.

I agree Hinostroza should be out there, but there are much bigger problems to worry about.

If this type of play continues over the next few weeks, can we expect to start seeing empty seats in the UC, or has the UC become a hip place for rich people to hang out no matter what's happening on the ice?

McDonut is going to freak out if sellouts become a thing of the past.

Compare the Preds D core to the Pens D core last year.

Preds have the best defense in the league. And their grinders seem to turn it on every damn time they play the hawks. Pucks on a string, win most puck battles, get the bounces. Starting to dread Nashville games since last season.

And I'm stuck listening to the Nashville feed, so I gotta hear them gush about the jerk that boarded Debrincat for 5 minutes.

To me its more about where the Hawks play, the last 2 games they've been more and more outside the dots. Very difficult to score there. The second part is if the team is faster you have to out work the opponent on the ice and they are doing neither.

You've got St. Louis (at St. Louis) Wednesday and the Oilers here Thursday. The bigger concern is that a lot of folks think everything will be better once the savior Nick Schmaltz returns. Sure that'll reset the lines based on what we saw out of the gate.

But we're seeing how the Central plays the Hawks (Minni and now Preds) physical grinding game and forcing plays to the outside. I would expect the same from the Blues.

To think thousands paid cash money to witness this.

It's very convenient to know you can turn it off, walk away without spending a nickle more than your cable bill.

THis just in !!!!!!
Seabrooks contract won't get better and will be hard to trade.
Toews contract won't won't get any better either.
The power play has never been as good as the talent should be.

Why the same group of you keep beating these seemily unfixable problems should give up on the season and go watch soccer or some other sport so the rest of us don't need to here your constant beating of these DEAD and BURIED HORSES
