Textbook interference on that one, but heck of a pass and rush AA->Panik. Best chance for the Hawks this period.

wow

I mean.....WOW

Hawks are either an average/fringe playoff team, or this is just a fluke start to the game. We'll find out over the next 2 periods which it is. Because bottom line is we've been utterly dominated, just like the Leafs game, and the opponent is clearly on another level(especially with speed/skating). But again I'm hoping its just the 1st period.

IMO us not having Schmaltz isn't a fair complaint if they're missing Ellis and Josi.

The problem with the power play is Keith and Kane. One or the other in my opinion Keith brings nothing to the power play

It's like to see Forsling in Keith's place, I'd even be okay with Panik in Kanes place

- BetweenTheDots

The guy who has lead the team in powerplay points per game almost every year since he entered the league is the problem on the powerplay.

Editing to add: omgosh obvs I'm talking about Kane.

I'm just going to back out of here during game days. Y'all are the most hot-take reactionary bunch after the shortest time period ever lol.

Getting out of this 1st even is a break for the Hawks.

Thanks CC.

He is earning his 6 mil. I mean for that salary, he needs to step up like this when the team needs him to IMO.

Kind of. If they ran a different scheme that had more movement and less "back to keith" he wouldn't get as many secondary assists.

To me, it seems like the second unit is having more luck with Alex DeBrincat making plays and that unit a bit more seat of their pants.

Tr Murray says Blackhawk players getting treked down from behind. Says Pred's outskating us. Surprise.

One curious move why Franson playing. Against a team outskating us AGAIN.

I would love to see the Hawks get back to having a good net front presence and someone with a canon shooting the puck (I know easier said than done).

It's not Debrincat - it's that they make up of that unit calls for more movement in cycling and shots because they're not as good of passers as the first unit. If you track the passing and skating on the units, it's pretty clear. Perhaps they should be mixing the units more.

It also helps the second unit typically faces secondary PK units but that's another discussion.

Considering he basically plays the full 2 minutes on the power and gets mainly an assist, yeah that same guy who only adds a secondary pass due to his weak ass shot

Why? because he called the penalty on Towes what it was, an interference penalty? I don't know what Towes was crying about, it was obvious.

I know I'm just frustrated with Keith everyone and his mother knows he's going to pass, so our pp turns into a 4 on 4

Again, talking about Kane. ]

Though, no offense, the fact that you guys don't seem to know simple facts like who has lead the team in powerplay points per game every year is kind of baffling to me. I feel like that's common sense.

Preds completely outplaying us. shots were what 20-11 in the first...yikes. And Nash is missing two of their best dmen. Kane with a couple of numbing turnovers in his own end. Rutta continues to look good. But its all on Corey this evening.

Offense being pushed to the perimeter and no one at the net and the PP continues to do little to nothing.

Keith has been: viewed as the best option on power play over the years

Keith is not: resembling a power play qb. Does not get shots on net. Should be replaced on pp. Keith I do not really like him even on 2nd unit. But Q can't understand. And no matter who teaches the power play, they seem to do the same old. Team's challenging us, not afraid of us.

It is only going to get worse. Whether it all heeps up right away, or the team manages to play .500 but get consistently outplayed

Look the talent is not bad. You can like some thi by a about the personnel. But they play like they do not know what to do, or do not care. Stubbornness. Coaching strategy. SOMETHING IS WRONG. MAYBE INSUDERS KNOW THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEMS. P LURAL: PROBLEMS

Nothing to do with the Toews play
