Leafs kinda did that same thing but still came close to the cap, until the twins are gone we're going to be spending closer to the cap then the floor.
For all the accolades the yotes get, they've accomplished jack squat and dont really have any prospects that are world beaters and greatly better then our prospects.
Even the oilers didn't use the cap space to do what Arizona does, borderline cap circumvention picking up players contracts that they don't have to pay just to reach the floor, we should never hope to have an owner so unwilling to spend money.
