Seems better than last night when the Leafs were getting chances from the prime scoring areas. Hawks are keeping the chances to the outside a fair bit better or from tough angles at least.
- breadbag

The Habs have scored only 5 goals in 4 games so far.

Side note I have watch quite passionately for the past couple years. I have never notice Plekanecs this much. Wow. Good game, or someone who's flown under the radar?

Always a solid player. Hard working checker, not a naturally gifted scorer. Most of the time he misses his chances. That was a fluke goal.

The PowerPlay is still a hot mess. Phil Danault was all over us....he's a kid we should have never traded, especially for trash. He has one speed: All out. I still love that kid.
- kwolf68

One of Bowman's worst moves ever. Can only wonder how this team would look with Danault still here. Getting hot garbage back in forwards and not the D man he needed. But gotta hand it to Stan on the Saad move. Loved the trade when it was announced, and Forsberg looked good in the preseason and last night he got shelled by the Leafs and held us in there.

Minni Thursday night...7 out of 8 points to start. Really tough schedule to start so keeping banking the points boys!

By the way gorgeous feed by Sharpie tonight for the Cat's first goal.

With as much as they get away with? Sad team. Seriously, they should have traded Price before they gave him all that money.

Maple Leafs do have more trigger men, but i believe if Corey was playing the Hawks would of won the game in regulation

And I will not waver from my dislike of the Franson....
yeah, tell me about the sweet pass to ADB that went for AA first goal,
every other bad decision he makes bothers me to no end.

Sure....Murphy was sent a message to stop running around.

I am a firm believer in continuing to play each new defender who is younger and continue to put them in tough situations and then firm things up with Keith and Seabrook hold down the fort against the better opposing lines.

Play the newbies /kids b/c their development is what every future post season will depend upon....HAWKS win! 7 points out of 8

- wiz1901

I felt like Franson did have a couple of good break ups in the D-zone. Mainly in the corner, are those break ups most high end((read:top ahl and higher(mainly Connor Murphy)) make?

But the Hawks should have lost 10-1, or at least 5-1 cause it was the 2nd of back to back games. With travel and all, ya know....not sayin, just saying...eh, tsj?

Tough to say, I think the leafs made em look silly in the third and OT. Forsberg made some difficult stops and didnt give up much in the way of rebounds.

Not a Rembrandt... But 3/4 points on the road, back to back

I'd take it any day

More PPs and our D can't use their sticks like they used to. Keith can't go around lumber jacking. Shots against will go up.

Appears we also haven't gotten away from the go up 2 and play 3rd period prevent. Hayden needs some real linemates. Wonder if he could keep up with schmaltz and Kane?

I have a feeling Sharp is going back to the left of Kane and AA will stay put.

Crawford has been incredible for years now, but Price literally set the league standard for top goaltender after the king. All we can do is be thankful we have Crow Instead.

Carey "Diminishing Returns" Price

Don't get me wrong, great goalie. When he's on he is nearly invincible.

But it seems like he gets chased more frequently than Corey, and you can't blame the habs defense (they're not bad, pretty stingy under both Therrien and Julien regime)

Add to that the fact that his lower body has taken all kinds of injuries over the years, and they seem to flare up when it matters most.

Price can show you his gold medals from the Olympics and World Cup. He just happens to be backstopping a very poor Montreal team this season.

I will also say, its nice to see the Hawks don't have to rely on the power play or are a one line team this year.

Penalty kill looks great

Corey is just getting better with age

Long season but this team has potential

Track how many teams get 3/4 Toronto Habs trip this year. Likely few. Good work Hawks

Can anyone give me an opinion on what they see from Franson tonight. My feeling is he's been on both sides of the spectrum. My question is has he been better then Murphy. I feel he's been worse.
- MinneHawks

Franson has ranged from mediocre to terrible defensively and okay to good offensively. Sample size is extremely small but that's kind of been his MO his career.

Murphy has been better defensively though he has his own yips. I've liked his with Kempny so far. I'd prefer Murphy in.
