I don't know if the call was soft or if Franson is as ineffective at slashing as he is at skating.

No, they've had two goals against - the lone goal on a 5-on-3 against the Pens and the equalizer in the 3rd against the Leafs. They were only perfect the Jackets game. 80% before the game tonight.

More to the point, Franson defending makes Connor Murphy look like he's Drew Doughty or Aaron Ekblad. One on one with Gallagher shouldn't be difficult for capable NHL defenceman, which Franson isn't.

On replay that was a pretty great pass from the denigrated Franson to The Cat
