It's not about the 1 game, I thought he should have done it before the season started. I just think Sedin should pass it on, instead of having it taken away. - 1970vintage

Surprisingly, the Oilers PP has been dead so far. It's easy to survive a game against the Oilers when the PP isnt killing you all night... obviously going Esa Tikanen on McDavid's ass all night 5 on 5 is effective. Canucks have had past success doing this as well. - boonerbuck
Havent seen a coach that put a player on assignment like that since quinn. Loved watching DD as jesus's shadow. Good choice TG
Markstrom played fantastic!
I noticed how the offensive zone play had more movement to it, players were skating instead of parking themselves stationary which I said this off season can change offense. Nice to see the staff feels the same way. As this season gets going and players hit strides / chemistry etc watch how they'll buzz around the net with speed! Very exciting game style to watch! |

The reason I liked the Dorsett trade in the first place was because I loved how he agitated Crosby right out the playoffs. Last night reminded me why I liked him. Welcome back DD |

The stat watching, non-hockey playing pussies will never understand this. Every team needs a Dorsett. He would garner a decent pick at the deadline because actual hockey ppl understand his worth |

thats right, those stats people will never understand how acquiring a DD type can be the difference between winning and losing in the playoffs (as long as you have a coach who knows how to use him to his max).
You sir understand how it works |

With Dal Cgy Avs SJ Ari Minn Wpg all not looking to hot I think there is a chance JB starts thinking playoffs. I have been joking about it but if they are a bubble team JB won't be selling |

People that actually play hockey get it. I’m an old beer league player but I spear and punch guys all the time. Guess what, it works. That’s how you deal with star players. Get them thinking about you instead of the net |

In a short series, getting the star players off their games. |

I really do want one more high draft pick to be truthful. It would fit in perfectly with out with the old in with the new.
We are carrying still some extra old baggage and would not go far in the playoffs. Next years top 10 picks could easily help our future . I would not be upset but would be disappointed. |

too early to tell how those teams are.... but I hear ya that they look flat etc.
with dallas, flames, avs, ari, jets its staying how they were. Suspected SJ would flop for a good 1/2 season as it puts its pieces back together. But the Wild? You'd think they'd be on the rise still. But it's so early |
|
|
|
It's sure early. - manvanfan
It is early but those are bad teams . It will be a bottleneck at the bottom this year |

absolutely....it works well.
Opposition feared coming over my blue line with them thinking of the last time they tried it. Fear makes them hesitate if even 1/2 sec, enough for an offside call. You cant score if you cant enter the zone due to constant offsides. It wins games period. |

Yup, people that dont play the game will never get it. Any player looks at the opposing lineup and knows who might hurt them. It’s a contact sport |

Yah it's still way too early for me. After 6 games, then i'll decide which teams will struggle. |
