The above is a way more realistic comment about DD's game than Donna's.

"It was encouraging to see Dorsett fill a niche and we all hope he continues his strong play under TG."

Nobody would call out or argue with that statement.

But to suggest that every team in the NHL needs a Dorsett is still ridiculous. Anyway, most teams already have a Dorsett, but they call them SCRAPS.

- bloatedmosquito

Name a team that doesn't have a "dorsett" type player. You talk about how teams don't need that type of player. Let's see examples of teams that don't use a player like that.

D Aoust and Labate also doing okay. It is two games in.

Goldobin and BB may be the big names this year but I am sure people will be talking Gaudette at the end of his year. Next year will be a big year for Comets this year is a let's just get through the year

I'll be honest - yesterdays game was pretty ugly. There's a serious lack of offensive skill on the team. Goldy, D'Aoust and Boucher were really the only guys that made any impact and it was little. I still havent been able to figure out why Rodin, McEwen, or Laplante didnt play. Megna, Chaput & Hamilton line had 3 shots total all weekend. Molino, Darcy, Bancks, Carcone were also absolutely invisible for the most part in both games. I know its only 2 games, but somethings gotta change down there.

Labate had a goal and two crossbars the game before. How is he coming along. He looks good on the score sheet.

Subban sounded like the best D.

They are taking a lot of penalties.

Me? He's a 4rth liner who got some compliments for his game. You found someone who said every team needs a 4rth liner like him.... and you then build it up.

"He had one outstanding game and now he's a cornerstone for every NHL team"

"He played one good game against the oilers and all of a sudden Dorsett is a commodity every NHL team must have. Holy poop that's so (frank)ing ridiculous"

"second coming of Frank Selke"

Like I said, let's talk about Drama Queens

Yes or no or maybe. I'm not sure what you are saying.

I responded to a stupid statement made by a super fan known to wave pom poms at the slightest indication of something positive.

I don't do drama unless in a satirical manner.

I never said that. I said Dorsett is a poor example of that type of player.

Loui Eriksson better stop looking like poop. What a cluster (frank) of a contract.

Someone look up the buyout #'s

Labate tipped in Subban point shot that would've went in regardless. But he was quiet for the most part.

Holm, Chatfield and Subban all played pretty well. I'd say Holm is first call up.

WAY too many penalties. It completely f-ed with the flow of the game and their ability to get the lines straight.

I didnt think he was bad at all in the first game - he came real close to scoring on the PP. Anyways, after this year they have two coming off the books other than Luongos.

I think the comets are a little disorganized right now, lots of bodies new coach etc, once they get things straightened out they will be fine.

Yeah, I don't see Benning clinging onto the contract. He'll get out soon I hope... regardless of how bad it looks. That's one positive out of Bennings mistakes, unlike a GM like Gillis, he won't live it out til the end in denial over and over. Seems like ego is in check with Benning.

I'm OK with Dorsett as a 4th liner and hope Green continues to use him as an agitator but I chuckle every time I read that he "protects" the team. I've played on hockey teams before with guys who care more about hitting than scoring. Guess what? Those guys are going to keep doing it, otherwise they're useless to their own team.

A smaller tough guy isn't going to deter (frank) all.

I've always said we need a junkyard dog D who can actually play.

Hoping it was going to be Tryamkin or Gudbranson

Not worth buying him out . He has NMC so can't send him down only hope is LTIR skin rash from equipment or something. See if he can borrow Hossa's jockstrap

I'm just stunned that Dorsett goes from team punching bag to hero after just one good outing. Makes me think some in this group are no different from the leaf fan we've been calling out for years because of the same reaction to the slightest sign of something positive.

Hypocrisy at it's finest.

There's no point in even trying to buyout Eriksson at any point, not even his last 2 years:

https://www.prohockeyrumo...uyout-proof-contract.html

That makes it one of the worst contracts in the league.

Fair.

Every fanbase has a group of fans like that though. I don't think everyone here fits that category, but some will always have more of "what have you done for me lately" outlook without factoring in sample size.
