Awesome win. I see a couple issues, but no need to complain in a 10-1 game...I am sure we'll have time to lament them soon, but welcome back 20 and 10...8 is on fire, 38 on fire, 40 is legit, 88 is just well 88, 50 doing 50 stuff, liked 6 and 44, etc...Lines all looked potent. If the Panarin fanclub hasn't left the building they soon will be.

No love for Hartman? 5 point night.

He was great and like I said pretty good on the left side, but I think he's more a beneficiary than a driver

I tuned out after 7 or 8 goals, what did Kissel and Cement Head Reeves do to draw Solo misconducts?

Hawks will be even better when Hossa comes back for the playoffs. Looks like he's keeping himself in shape.

Just had to pop in here and say yikes. That was total carnage last night

I watch a lot of Blackhawks games based on where I live, and I have to say that they certainly looked different than last year

Awesome game.. Watching Schmaltz last night reminded me of Toews when he was younger. Just a horse. 19 was rather ghost-like. Didnt see much from him in terms of generating play other then the assist for Saad. Panik and Saad? Geezus. What a force those guys area.

Overall a great game from all four lines. Debrincat!?! Kid is fearless. Love it.

any word on tanner kero? his knee-to-knee hit looked far worse that 8's.
- jt19

I saw Kero take a cheap shot from Crosby behind Hawks net, went down on the ice for sec and was slow getting up. Went to ref to complain after the whistle.

Overall great game by the Hawks - Hawks played above average and Pens below average. Only one game, and lots of Hockey left. Crawford looked good too.

19 is why Crosby was rather ghost like for most of the night. SMH!!!!

What did everybody think of Toews' play? He looked ok to me.... helped make some plays on both ends but definitely not the 10million dollar player he was when they signed him.

Thoughts?

It's early for sure but I was impressed with Hayden last year and again last night. The Hawks may have something with him in a bottom six role. If he continues to bring that energy and works on his in-zone coverage, he could be a staple on that 4th line and occasional filler on the 3rd. Really like that kid's work ethic.

He's def not the $10 Mil player but he looked good in the dot and Saad will bring the best out of him. Still an asset and so critical that his line is a threat. Too much of a one line team the past two years.

People can debate his contract but he's the team's best center and still one of the better two-way centers in the league.

Loved everything about the game last night. To my eye, I think ADB could have easily been replaced with Dauphin or Wingels. I think the ADB love-fest from Q and the brass is puffed up so that they can use him as trade bait

19 was ghost like? 1 assist, plus 4, 52% at the dot, matched up against Crosby and Malkin most of the night. I would take 81 more ghost-like games like that from Toews.

Exactly. There is a reason the first line was so dangerous tonight and it wasn't just Saad. In addition, Kane's goal was largely made possible by Toews going to the net hard. Lastly, Crosby was pretty much a ghost last night, why do you think that is.

I was at that end of the ice. Schmaltz makes a run to the net and limps back to the bench. Then comes out later and again makes a better rush around and through the Pens only with the bad wheel. That was amazing. Looks like he tweaks it when he power skates to the right. He needs to be ok, so if a few games off is what it takes then so be it.

I hope the much better showing was a surge of pride that resulted from the playoff bedpoopting. And I really hope it's an indication that the assistant coaches input is being taken seriously and implemented. There's always circumstances, but the Hawks beat the Pens at their own game last night. Great show.

Fun game to watch!

Did want to bring up one glaring stat that stood out. Goals per period really dropped off from the first to the third. If they expect to contend, they need to learn to score in the third to close out games. (no idea how to do red font, but I think this warrants it)

Zero points on the first 8 goals. Most definitely not a 10M player last night.
