He may still be with the club if Gaglardi won that lawsuit.

Ps, thanks for the history lesson pops

- VanHockeyGuy

I just call BS when someone says he left the team in a bad way. They were largely successful because he put together a pretty good cast of players. I don't like the guy, he's a twat, but you can't take away from what he did during a different era in the league with the Canucks.

I think that's complete nonsense. People will support if they see a process, I just don't see that with Benning and Linden, therein lies the problem for most people I'm guessing.

Again, Ray Ferraro was talking about this the other day on sports radio. Which lends itself to some of what we're talking about with guys like Sutter, Vanek and Eriksson.

I just don't see Vancouver fans supporting losing teams. even if they are following whatever process.

even with one or two exciting players, I don't really see it. maybe not an empty building, but not 3/4 full either unless one of those players is a McDavid.

I'm okay with insulating the kids and having them mature in Utica, I don't get how JV makes the press box out of camp after a good camp.

Vancouver is a strange place with all the immigration, where are these people from and who are they cheering for? Do they even care about hockey? If they aren't dyed in the wool hockey fans, I'm pretty sure they don't care about a losing team but might want to see a game if the team is winning.

buying hockey tickets is more of an emotional investment than a logical investment.

If you look in the crowds at the games it has a large East Indian and Asian support. The building would be empty if not for them.

In the 80's, 90's and 2000's trading was a big part of the league. Now it's not as prevelant because of the cap so you've gotta build through the draft to be successful. Benning seems to be stuck between the two era's. He doesn't know which way to go and he's just ok at both.

Hopefully this is Benning's last year in Vancouver, and Trevor Linden can go (frank) himself as well

wonder how many are season ticket holders vs. people who want to experience a hockey game, night out, and it is suddenly more affordable? and I guess these folks could be hockey fans if they grew up here or embraced the team since moving here.

$44 tickets made me consider tonight, but fiipino party at 5pm so I can't go.

I'm a fan, and will follow the team regardless.

we all want to be entertained.

Palmu with a goal already

Lind 3rd star in WHL last night

Dipietro 2nd star in OHL.

I feel like lind and dipietro are going to be the most talked about prospects this year in the CHL

I don't know maybe the fact that when you draft someone they actually want to play for your team?

Burmistrov for one, and I don't think you're in a position to tell me what Travis Green thinks. Don't kid yourself, the NHL is an old school business, they're playing guys ahead of him simply because they're more experienced, not necessarily better.

I don't think Jake will ever be what they'd hoped when they picked him at #6, but I think he can be a good middle six forward. IMO Eriksson and his 6 million dollars should be playing with the Sedins, not on the third line, and Virtanen should be on the third line. Vanek should be in Europe.

Herein lies my issues with Benning and his signings.

- LeftCoaster

Vanek does not belong in Europe lol he is arguably our 2nd best forward

They said on Global last night the home opener still isn't sold out. I wonder why.

I think I've got this morning hate thing down pat

- LeftCoaster

I just checked ticketmaster website, I could still get a ticket to Roger Waters, 3rd row even if I cared to shell out $1000. Point being, selling out is tougher these days.

$44 was advertised. upper bowl, rafters, somewhere. I was talking to my brotherinlaw last night and he had seen it too... maybe it is part of a larger promotion. sounds too reasonable.

People are struggling to come up with $135 for second deck seats in Winnipeg. Quite a few people that bought season tickets are now only going to 1/4 of the games and selling the rest.
