JV prolly earned the last roster spot on merit. Keeping him hungry is fine.
1 game that hasn't been played yet against a very good Oiler team is hardly worth getting panties in a knot. Whatever happened to patience & letting the process take place is quite amusing. Tankers want entertainment & losing thats quite a lot to expect. Sounds like the Coyote model. In Winnipeg its not working so far & its been going on for a few years with the talent they have & poor results. Onto the Av's which what would most likely happen to us if we jettisoned every vet to let the new wave take over. That would be suicide with our crazy stupid fanbase. The Detroit model is an overused example & look at the state they r in. Other than winning a generational player in the lotto which is rare ppl just need to relax & endure some pain & give it time.

You can't stop him but contain is used as minimize damage. I think JV can skate with him. Add in Sutter checking factor and Bo angling him off to Tanev then there is something there. Plus they are all also coverage aware and can prevent the linemates from being wide open.

This is the first time they've done it. And Gagner is signed for 3 years so he doesn't count as short term for me. That's mid term.

So doing that for 6 moths suddenly means there's hope? 6 months of that isn't going to undo the first few years of whatever it was they they tried doing. If they keep down this path(assuming there is a path) for more than a few months then yeah, next year you'll probably get some excitement for the first time in a long time in this city.

everyone worrying about young guys playing, tanev will step on the puck and rip his groin, edler take a shot to his ankle and break it, sutter will fall awkwardly breaking his wrist, LE blow out his knee, vanek shoulder injury, numerous guys with the flue all in the first month.

I agree the team is doing ok at this point, low expectations and adding good promising prospects. I just have concerns with that group going forward, when the difference between winning and losing becomes reliant on good decisions. They have time to figure it out though

I agree but i target the 2019-20 season as our time to show how we have done & the prospects lead the way. Its hard for most of us to wait but idk how u speed up the clock other than keep nibbling & improving in all areas.

Plus he's more of an actual signing then a sign and flip.

Problem with that PP is Danny Hank and Gagner are all passers. Vanek is your guy in front and Edler who couldn' hit the side of a barn is the trigger man. Everyone ripped WD but here we go again

Green tore down JV's game & built him back up. He simply is saying JV yer doing good but lots more to do before u r fulltime. Have faith & keep humble & i got your back. Keep proving me right & u will be better & we will also for it.

I'd play Henrik as the QB on one unit with some finishers like 2 of Boeser, Eriksson, Vanek and a net front presence Sutter, Virtanen, whoever.

Yeah, I kind of have to shake my head when people think he's a lock to get moved for a 2nd or 3rd. He got a 3d + AHL scrub last year and that was during a 15 goal in 48 game pace with Detroit. How the hell will he get the same or more this year if he's producing less and a year older?


I don't see him producing 15 goals in VAN during the first 48 games here.
