That's not the point, though. You know exactly what was happening. |

As does everyone else. I'm curious to see who calculates the risks properly. |

"When you don't watch the game but desperately want to troll specific posters" - AllInForFlyers
Yes, discussing how certain risks are different from each other in the game of hockey is desperately wanting to troll certain posters.
Your post above, definitely not trolling a specific poster.

I didn't see the game but I fully expected the scapegoats to be well scapegoated regardless of how they played. - MJL
So you're forming conclusions after not seeing the game. |

The conclusion I drew there was not about the game. As I said certain players were and are going to be criticized as a whole regardless of how they play. Good or bad. |

Manning is an NHL defenseman. You would be wrong, to assume he does not know how to play the game of hockey. |

Yeah, how the hell were we to know that every single play didn't come with the same amount of risk as every other play?
It also had nothing to do with the play. It was a play any of the Flyers defenseman should've made in the first period of a hockey game |

Don't start crying because I said it and because you aren't fooling a single person

Thats not entirely true...
Typically people complain about players who provide unsatisfactory results. When they do that consistently, they become targets. Yes, they do get scrutinized to a level others dont, but that is only because the others dont provide unsatisfactory results as often as the others.
Mac was OKAY last night. That's fine for a 6th d-man (about what he is at the NHL level). But at the same time you cant just be okay for an extended period of time as a top pairing D-man and expect people to just be ho hum about it.
Also, a lot of this stuff comes down to the coach. They are the ones who use the players the way they do.
For example:
Last night the Flyers are out on the PP with less than two minutes on the clock and a one goal game and somehow Radko Gudas ends up on the ice... Why?

I just always assumed that every single play carried the same amount of risk and that no event should be viewed independently. |
