I saw that. Sometimes he was the best defenseman including Keith. He's looking like a steal.

I was also impressed with the poise Kempny played with during the preseason. He looks to have settled in and adjusted to the NHL pace. We need both Kempny and Rutta to be solid players this year to contend.

If that line can jell, its is similar to Sharp Vermette TT from 2015, less face offs. Don't expect Cat to be any worse that TT. He has shown in the preseason that he is less allergic to contact than TT and a much better shooter.
- bhawks2241

anyone have AA's faceoff numbers when he wasn't centering 72 and 88? I would have to think that the opposition would put one of their better FO guys out there to try to keep the puck away from Kane and Panarin.

I've played hockey for 20+ years. Wingers "sides" aren't as necessary as D-men. it's mostly where they played growing up. ADB was a RW in juniors. He did play some left on the powerplay, but he was a RW. The handedness isn't that big of a deal, honestly.
- JRoenick97

I'm all for having him play where he is most comfortable. He was probably switched to LW because of his right handed shot. I see a lot of left shooting LWs but fewer right shooting RWs, although Hartman and Schmaltz are right shots and have played RW.

THIS.

It will be really helpful if ADB can play both sides effectively to be honest. Q will love that versatility.

I think having him with Sharp on that 3rd line is about balance but maybe also because of their chemistry off the ice. You guys read that Athletic story? Looks like Sharpie has taken the kid under his wing.

Do you have a subscription for The Athletic? Is it any good? IF I would get it, it would be primarily for Powers and Hawks stuff...anyone else here have a subscription by any chance...any feedback..good...bad?

I have one. I would get it again. Just the Hawks stuff is worth it, but all the other sports and cities are a nice bonus.

Guys!!!!....Guys!!!!!....Guys!!!!!

Don't sweat it! This is "Q".....

by the 5th minute the lines will be juggled 3-4 times.

Betting D-Cat play Left side....right side....2nd line... 3rd line....

(and that may be all in the first period!!!!!

JJ is officially off the front page (on mobile). It's kind off a pain in the ass to find the thread when that happens!

If both those guys can play big minutes well, I think the Hawks are gonna be looking solid (until they need to resign them next year). I really like what Rutta showed so far and I'm think he might be finding his way to play with Keith at some point.

Sounds like a lot of folks expect Vegas to make a trade in the next day or so.

That would make sense, they're carrying 9 defensemen.

It's fantastic IMO. They have a 30% off deal right now if you jump on it.

That's true -- when I played, I couldn't put the biscuit in the basket no matter which side I was on!!

That's why I played center, and a defensive center at that.

I have a subscription and love it. Great Hawks, Sox, Bears content; plus, you get all the out-of-town stuff from them. Well worth the money,

The Hawks, and especially the Bears content is tiers above what you can get anywhere else.

Very good reporting on all of the sports, best reporting on hockey in the city (among major news organizations) - lots of cities now, and they keep adding more - and more reporters.

Starting a rookie on his offside, c'mon man. Like the lines otherwise. Hope Wingels can unseat Bouma sooner than later.

thats the wonderful world of Q...

like hartman with kane and smaltz...and i like the 3rd line but that is not your typical defender line

JR said Debrincat played more on the right in juniors than not, though he did play both.
