There are some modern guys that technically(picking and fingering) are stupid good, but nobody played with soul and skill like Stevie.

Eddie Van Halen is the most overrated by far.

One of them measures the process, the other measures the results.

One of them has 10x the events (creates larger sample size)

It's not perfect by any means, but comparing it to +/- for goals is just incorrect.

I don't want to go 10 rounds, but corsi is 10x the tool +/- will be.

Im curious to see how he's deployed. For the most part this is how the flyers have gotten full value out of ghost. Mind you, i dont believe ristolainen is ghost level defensively but i wish we would have added a shut down guy or two so that they could prevent risto from matching up in his own end with guys who are too quick. Even if he knows where to be, hes not catching up to say mcdavid the way lord almighty hampus might (yeah i went there)

He does this, that's the doing his job part of the heat map his side of the net front allows a lot less shots than the rest of the zone.

His D-Zone passing needs to be better. I think his playmaking is fine, but when most of his 5v5 play is D-Zone he doesn't get a ton of opportunities to make plays, plus the coaching style limited defensemen's offensive ability anyway. His playmaking on the PP is really, really good. As evidenced by his 24 PPA which is 42% of the PPG scored by the Sabres.

Wow, I just realized he was 3rd in shot attempts, 359. ROR was 4th at 297.

His on ice SV% is .928. Which is second among guys who play more than 13 minutes. Gorges is first .941. Bogo, Bogo is baaaad, .907.

Is Seth Griffin this year's Derek Grant? The bar Grant set is really low (0 goals) so hopefully Griffin can at least beat Grant's production......
