I'm thinking its a salary thing (pouliot might want a raise, eventually?) I have no idea why Pitt made this trade other than the fact that they think Pouliot is trash and wanted a big body/ the pick?

I see why JB makes this trade, no idea why Pitt makes it.

- Crazybagoham

Because Pedan already cleared waivers they can assign him to their farm team.

There was no need for that trade Pouliot doesnt crack top 6 dmen.

Im mad about the 4th rounder not Pedan, although i liked his toughness

- phyllee

At least its a 4th, much better than a 2nd

Jensen 6th rounder for Etem. Fail
Kassian 5th rounder for Prust. Fail
Mallet and 3rd rounder for Pedan. Fail

Pedan and 4th rounder for Pouliot. TBD but I think we know the answer.

Perhaps I will, although the thought of cheering for a team of over achieving midgets isn't really that appealing too me. On the bright side i would get 24/7 media coverage and most calls going my way.
On the dark side in a year when the cap causes them to trade a few young states and slip back into mediocrity ill be sad.

I dont know, think i should do it? They do have the best coach in hockey.......

that's really been annoying me lately, Hockey central at noon is pretty much unwatchable, heard on one show that the producers require them to try to talk about leafs the first 30 minutes -.- such boring crap now

If I were to jump ship, it would probably be to the Jets, I like the Jets

Wasn’t sure if he had been on waivers or not. Thought he might still be on the Pens 23.

JB has shown growth, people need to recognize that

it was a fair trade for both sides, why this is even news is beyond me.

Pedan already cleared waivers.

Pullout would have been claimed.

Our 4th was the best offer because they feel it will be a higher 4th then their other offers.

Peden was an exchange of contracts. Doesn't cost us another slot.

I'm fine with this pick. Pullout has more upside and is closer then any other of our prospects.

Now they will officially send Archibald to Utica, paper Virtanen and/or Boesser to AHL set the roster, put Gaunce on LTIR and any other players who are rumored to be hurt on IR, bring back Virtanen/Boesser.

Mallet a future echl all star, a 3rd and a 4th for pullout?

Pullout was ranked vey highly and is light years better then Subban offensively. Who do we waive Subban for?
Will anyone whine if we trade Subban for a 7th?

Talent Analysis

Pouliot is an exceptionally mobile offensive defenseman with elite vision and puck-distribution skills. He has a blistering shot from the point, can transition the puck with his head up, and can play a lot of minutes in all situations. Although not a tall player, he is bullish in the corners and difficult to knock off the puck. He possesses a strong, wide base and is an explosive skater who is able to quickly rush the puck up ice. Outside of getting stronger and faster, which is something that practically all prospects need to do, there is little in Pouliot’s game that could be considered a weakness. He will need to continue to improve his defensive play, but his game will always be predicated around creating offensive chances and taking some degree of risk.

I just don't get why JB has to throw a pick in for a player that another team doesn't want anymore.

Edit: One thing that has always stood out to me is how physical he plays. I always assumed he was bigger than 6'0 210 pounds
