I am excited about this team honestly, the goalie tandem is solid and the forwards are deep. Now with the rookies we could see slumps and mistakes just hopefully not all at once. The defense is the biggest concern to me and will determine how far this team can go. Honestly the staff keeping the kids all is such a breath of fresh air it's amazing. Ill end it with this im drinking the koolaide right now

The defense could be very much different than I listed. Pulock had a bad preseason. Pulock/Pelech/Mayfield all require waivers so Isles will be carrying 8 defensemen, unless a trade is made.

Correct, 16 13 12, and 72 29 66 gives you better balance as far as d zone responsibilities go plus beau is a solid 2 way guy

This team went ,what , 6 and 14 to start the season last year and missed playoffs by a point. No way that happens again. Got rid of Crappy, Hammer and improved with Eberle over Strome. As long as the kids ALL don't crap the bed, this team should be fine.

This guy is on fire!

All three will make terrible mistakes and go through slumps, but I'm actually confident that Weight will turn those negatives into positives and force them to learn from them rather than just banish them to the press box, AHL, or juniors.

That's a weird, confident feeling I have in regards to the guy behind the bench.

Hard to say the caps lost a lot but are still good and the pens are always good. Columbus looks to be strong as well so I'll say 4th and 1st wildcard. Those 3 teams are very good and will be hard to top but i think they are better than the rest if the division

Problem will be that everybody else in the metro got better too.

Except maybe the Pens and Capitals. The Caps are going to be hurting a lot worse than they think.

Real deal starts Friday night against a very good opponent. It's going to be interesting what the Islanders possession numbers look like and see if they keep the opponents opportunities to a minimum.
A little more defensive structure would be a blessing to see this year.
