Only player higher then Yamamoto in shooting percentage during the preseason. Jayson Megna. 100% shooting percerntage. Yam is at 62.5%. Should probably be back in junior but well it's the oilers. 9 games and he's back in junior.

Every year prospects come in and play great because they have been at it for a month longer and are in better shape ...by the start of the season or by November you start to see who was playing over their heads and who is the real deal

Kids these days are taking over the game. You have to be so hesitant when you sign players that are over 26/27 to these term contracts. Brouwer and Stajan are old as dirt lol. Sutter has a bit of youth compared to them, but look at the age of the kids who are at the top of the boards these days, all under 25

Utica assistant GM on the phone with Rick Dhaliwal about Utica's first few games:

"Goldobin showed up with a great attitude. Killed penalties, played ont he PP, had a smile on his face all the time and played hard."

"Boucher played well and wasn't dragging his lip, attitude was great."

"Dahlen was in and out, great skill with the puck but had a tough time finding the ice."

"Was really impressed with Chatfield and Holm. Holm is a very good player, he is going to help us this year."

TG seems to want to have 1 shut down line. Sutter going to be playing against the other teams top line. Problem with this roster though is who are you going to play with him that won't take away from their offence.

Gagner last season had one of his best seasons ever because he was played max PP time and against the other teams 4th line.

Best responsible defenders would be dorsett and sutter. Someone who isn't as bad on the D-side and could help out on offence is Burmy but as seen in wpg, in that role he is less effective then giving more Ozone opportunities.

So in terms of "match up" line up so far
Dorsett Sutter Granny -----shutdown line
Loui Bo Boeser--- could match up against a 2nd line and win a lot of nights
Daniel Henrik Vanek ----easier competition might see more points for not against
Sven Gagner JV ----- 4th line feast for scoring.

Anyone notice this post is almost like a Nuck4u type post.

Burmy as the 13th forward.

I feel bad that Granny doesn't get more of a scoring role, I think he is a player that creates scoring on his own.

This roster just has too many fill in jack of all trades players and almost not enough role players. Will find out in the coming year or two what type of players Sven and Granny, JV will actually become.

As for ice time. Probably 12 a night for the 4th line and sorted out 15 plus PP and PK time for the other lines.

Don't get me started on the defence. We should just make some trades to sort things out for a while.

Nice essay.....

TLDR version
Minutes will be spread out hopefully it results in more points all around. Granlund produces his own opportunities. Nuck4u worries really long posts.

Dahlen is about 2 months behind most of the guys. Probably be close to a ppg at the end of the season. Will be better then Nylander haha

Rick Dhaliwal of News 1130 in Vancouver reports that Josh Anderson and the Columbus Blue Jackets are negotiating over term, not money as the team would like to get him under contract for three years. Whether this information is coming from the agent or team is unclear, but one would hope the situation can be resolved quickly if salaries have been agreed upon. Anderson remains unsigned going into the season, and will miss the opener unless he signs in the next day or so.

Someone tweeted something recently touching on that same point, but I couldnt find it. It basically said that the ratio of players under 25/26 is continuing to grow, with the majority of the league's best in that group. Expecting higher than the 33(ish)% from last year too

There were 234 players aged 25 or younger who played in season opening games last season compared to 220 in the 2011-12 season and 180 in 2006-07, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Don't pay for it, unable to read it.

I made up my own post about a month ago that showed players from 23-27 were by far the highest among scoring leaders in the nhl.

Conversations at my house are never dull . We are watching shark tank and they have on Richard Branson. I told my wife he bought an island where he lives. She said that is impossible you can't buy an island . Where would you buy an island ?

I told her you buy them at Islands R Us . She said Oh I did not know that, she was happy with the answer.

- VANTEL

lol...that's great.

When I built Fire Trucks and worked in a big plant with a bunch of guys from el Salvador they all asked me what a free range chicken farm was. I told them it was a farm where you could go and chase the chickens around the range and if you could catch one you could take it home for 'free'.

They drove out there the next day to try it out...
