Van has Gaudette aka the next Dubinsky and Cole Cassels aka kryptonite to McJesus.

And bringing back Hansen next season.

Of GM's signing RFA forwards coming off of a 10 point season to cheap deals?

I went to the comparables on cap friendly. 31 points in 102 games or something around there. Players signed to similar contracts of age and such.

https://capfriendly.com/c...bles/markus-granlund-6633

I think only 3 players on the entire list broke 30 points last season. Some did it in their second season.

I don't get your point here, no hate, just confused lol

He was signed when he was literally a nobody by NHL standards. That's a standard contract negotiation man. Literally any GM can get that done.

Again, I don't get it. That has nothing to do with what that guy is saying.

Are you guys suggesting Granlund and his agent signed some sort of a discount deal when they signed for 900K after a 10 point season? To me that seems like a standard contract for that type of RFA.

This place is weird sometimes...

For every 900,000 two year contract that handed out, how many of them actually excel. Not a lot. Granlund is doing awesome for his contract. Most guys that show potential are getting even like 2 million for a few years.

Dude, the props Benning deserves is for the trade. Not the contract. I'm actually stunned that you can't understand this.

I always wonder how the players feel about this... Megna and Chaput are trusted by the coach over the other two in the 3rd period - yet, the very next day, both of them get waived so that the guys sitting on the bench can take their spots?

Kind of like last year, where Stetcher played his way onto the team and then got sent down anyway.

Of course, Boeser/Virtanen have much higher ceilings than Megna/Chaput (and neither of them should be in the NHL). But, still, it must SUCK to lose your job, even though the coach trusted you more.

1) you fall for fake news too easily. Chaput didn't play last night.

2) these depth AHL talent players got one way contracts so they lost no jobs for you to feel bad about. They don't belong on this roster.

3) Megna was with DA to prove their shut down worth going against McDavid's line and Oiler killer PP. They were given a lot of respect to show what they got.

4) At the end of the day LE, Bo Sutter would make a better shut down line then any other combo of fringe guys because they can play the top minutes and score. Therefore negating the need to be in constant defend mode. When you have plug lines of Sutter with DD & DA or Megna it's old school that only works with a real top line of your own. Playing lots of minutes and eventually getting scored on with no bite back is limiting.

5) Canucks don't have a 1st line or stacked stars to carry weight of scoring. Thus creating a 4th line to check/grit it out against top lines is a waste of ice time and recipe for not scoring enough. Reiterating point 4 if it didn't sink in.

The point is JB signed Granlund to a 900K deal coming off a 10 pt 47 game season.

The fact that Granlund scores 19 the next year looks good on Benning but I'm sure if everyone is being honest, nobody expected that including Benning and Granlund.
