Yeah probably right, but like that other dude said they may of been expecting more out of Foo...

They wanted to see what that had...still major potential, he's just not ready

Stone has been playing top D pair minutes with the flames B squad against other teams A squads ....let's see how he plays when he's a 3rd pairing guy with actual NHL forwards on his team ...preseason can be misleading
- Redmile247

no kidding, people are dumb

Stone is not trying out for the team, he is getting in game shape....those guys should be playing a hell of a lot harder/better

by this logic Gio should probably be cut, was a bum in the split squad game

Yeah that's the thing. Foo isn't a bust just because he didn't make the team out of training camp. He just wasn't ready for the pro game yet and that's fine. He could earn a call-up halfway through the seasom and stay. Nothing wrong with having him start the year in Stockton and letting Huska groom him a bit.

I would roll the dice with any of these guys on waivers right now.

Beau Bennett - his offensive numbers are not jaw dropping but he fills a need on the RW.

Ty Rattie - but only if he comes in and scores 4 points a night against Edmonton

Emerson Etem - only because he has size and plays RW and is relatively young still

Bennett would be the only one the Flames should look at, and maybe if that. Stay the course, there is a reason these guys are on waivers. Ty Rattie is an awful skater, and Eterm would instantly become the softest player on the flames.

Agree, nothing on waivers is really what we need. If anything, it just means we maybe should pull of a trade. Need to see how this plays out. It will be really interesting to watch these last few games with Hamilton Gio & Brodie Hamonic playing. The last game against Arizona, I saw Brodie really dangling & playing the way he did the year before last year. That top 4 when healthy are going to play a lot of minutes.

I saw a post from Travis Yost, and it was kind of interesting. The only position the flames could lack in scoring is RW, and he almost isn't wrong, but to think that you will have automatic offensive production from all 3 forward positions from each line is reaching anyway. Stay the course, you guys have good roster this year.

Yeah might be time to start looking into some! I was at the beach for the weekend and did not get much sleep and had a little too much to drink. Age is catching up and I can't party like I did when i was 20.

Yeah I see it as a cause of concern, but I would rather Tre waits till a real solution is found.

Also who knows, Brouwer could surprise.

It would be dumb for Treveling to make any moves within the first 10-15 games either. Like you guys have said, Flames are notoriously slow starters, but if they can go on a 10 game winning streak with an inferior roster last year, there is no reason they can't get better results with a superior roster this year.

I don't know much about this kid but his age, position and size fit the need for a 3rd line RW.
Maybe a trade like:

Wotherspoon
Lomberg
6th or 7th round pick

for

Anderson

Like I said I don't know this guys skill set so maybe this is too much or way to little .... just thought I would throw it out there for conversation.

Thought he was a LW? Don't see Columbus going for futures if he is a desired piece for the Avs & Duschene is the return. They are going to want Bennett back or Janko at the very least. They gave Vegas graft to not take him. This package won't cut it. JMO

Brouwer is definitely capable of a bounce-back and if he has one we'll be in pretty good shape. RW is still our weakest position depth-wise but I don't think the waiver wire is the place to fill it.
