I lost a family member at 19 during WW2

another in Vietnam

never got to meet both of them

I have a close friend who lost a leg in the middle east

If you think they sacrificed for this, you are dead wrong

I hope you're right. I'd love to see that. I was hoping for 80-90. Your prediction is a bit more bold than mine. Guess I was more or less going for a point per game pace for the most part.

This is not meant to bash him (I swear)

But where did he get the rep of a good defensive forward? He's not.

He takes way too many penalties to be "good" in the D zone

- sbroads24

I like Kane, and he does in fact suck in his own end.

I agree with you on this.

That's the last I'm saying about any of it on here.

We had a pretty civil conversation earlier. Things have now gotten more contentious now.

i was mostly kidding but i prefer this to the other convo so...

" simulated the 2017-2018 NHL seasons a hundred thousand times to estimate what is likely to happen. First, I simulated each game ten thousand times using Edgar, my predictive model for single games. Briefly, I consider shot generation, shot suppression, shooting and goaltending results, which players are more likely to take the shots that are taken, special teams, penalties drawn and taken, rest, and home ice advantage. Injuries, suspensions, and all off-season moves are included."

As for #2. You're correct but i believe its relevance to the sabres spot in the standings is grossly overstated. Even if Bylsma was truly awful and Housley is pretty good, the impact of a coaching change in the wins column is not nearly enough to use it as an excuse to dismiss these projections.

- Sabresfan-365

#1. Sidney and Geno collide into one another heavily during a power play in Game 3 of the 2017-18 season. Geno suffers a broken femur and is out for at least 8 weeks, comprising 25 of the Pens 82 games. Sid's eggshell cranium finally collapses and he can no longer play the game.

Are EDGAR's predictions reliable, not matter how may times they are replicated?

Well... he is def considered brutal (good) at forechecking and causing the other team in transition into turnovers and slowing down. How he is actually when down in the zone... I couldn't tell you with definitive analysis but I know that the transition game is where he really shines.

I am with him... I do think Jack is going to have a great season if he stays healthy. He was a PPG player last year in his 57 or whatever games he played. He had a better PPG than Leon Draistail I believe I read.

I think he will be at a 90-95 pt clip as well.... this is IF they don't end up having to be sellers at the deadline and Kane stays.

You talking forwards???

ROR, Okposo, Kane, and Zemgus (hopefully) are probably some our most physically capable defensive players. Eichel is very, very well rounded as well.

- JVince11

He's not but okay lol. I was talking defenders.

In terms of players that could have a nice increase in scoring, I think Pominville could see a decent increase IF he says on the Jack's wing. I'd put him in the 60+ point area.

After that first game with Pominville, I would hope he trusts him. Those two seemed to have great chemistry right from the get go.

You must have missed where I said Europe didn't have chattel slavery based on dehumanizing people only because the pigment in their skin was darker.

which presupposes the "injustice" exists and is not just a combination of statistical skewing, politicians exploiting racial divide to garner the votes of minorities, and a ratings-driven media

ANYWHO..

Kinda want to see a little more from the Offense these next couple of games....I know they have it in them

I think one of the biggest issues we have today is that it's extremely difficult to find reports that aren't biased in some way.

I'd like to be well informed, but at the same time, the majority of what's available to us these days all have some sort of agenda behind it. While they use facts, they pick and choose which ones they want to use instead of giving the full picture. (Gee, where have I heard that one before?)

I guess I'm just frustrated at the fact that I can't really get the information in a way that doesn't have some sort of a spin on it.

If someone has a place to get this info without the bias on it, I'm all ears.

- HonkFortheGoose

Just try and read as much as you can about what you're trying to find out. Do a google news search and read the top 5 different articles. I know that could take some time if they're especially long, but the bottom line is you'll never know if and when you'll have all the info.

Just by trying you'll already be more informed than 90% of people.

Me too. I think part of the issue this weekend was that Phil moved everyone around. Clearly his first instinct was the better option as he's gone back to the same top 2 lines at this point.

I'm guessing we'll see a fairly consistent roster for the last 2 games as well as I don't believe we really have enough players left to field 2 very different rosters.

I don't think House will leave it as is if the roster isn't scoring. But its preseason so he may not give a poop at this point

There's not much he can do. There still isnt enough depth and high end talent. Bylsma took all kinds of heat for line juggling.

Juggling is being kind. He would make changes with no rhyme or reason...D-Lo playing top line minutes is a good example. I don't see Housley making these types of mistakes or at least not thus far.
