Well Patrick Kane seems to get a ton of time and space on the wing. - J35Bacher
Thats also because the Hawks have had other multiple threats to actually score, instead of just cycling with no results. Not to by any means take away from the skill of Kane.
Let's face it, while there is some help now the story remains the same. Shut down G, and you have a very good chance at beating the Flyers. I hope he plays well and rebounds a bit, but its as much the other guys, and young kids coming up that have to become a consistent threat.
Dig that top 6 but the rest of the line up has some square pegs in round holes. Including both Filppula and Lehtera is going to be a challenge without some injuries or younger guys sitting. I'd balance it out a bit.

Last night I began franchise domination with the Flyers in NHL 2018. Patrick led the team in points and goals through preseason after simming them. He will be elite. That is all. - arichardson22
While I have not bought the game yet, although I intend too, to put things in perspective (with Patrick), Dale Weise won the Conn Smythe in my first season of NHL 17.

I get it.
And I am realistic that I do think he is the number one center to start the season. But I also can see some merit to having him at wing.
I think if you put him on the wing it puts your best talent in the top 9.
A top line of Giroux - Couturier - Voracek could match up with other team top lines. Also give Giroux some size in the middle and a guy who will go to the net.
Next line could be Filpulla in between Weal and Lindblom. Again you have some creative players to go with a big body in Lindblom who will get to the net.
Then I could put together a line of Konecny - Patrick - Simmonds. This may sound archaic but i want Simmonds on a line with patrick because if there are liberties taken on him i want someone to handle that. Plus that line could provide some spark as all are gritty solid players.

At the end of the day, I just want the kids to get playing time. Not sitting Laughton/Vech for some dead-wood that is irrelevant in a few years anyway. Do that this year, and I will be happy.
Morin and Hagg both need to play as well. Kids need to play, and Flyers need to find one more real workhorse to go along with (hopefully) Patrick to set themselves up in the future. Everything else is a fart in the wind.

I think they will.
But I can see Vechionne going to LH to play some heavy minutes. Just too many vets making money. I think the 4th line will be Laughton, because he would need to pass waivers, centering some mix of Lehtara, Read, Raffl or Weise.
Maybe a team loses someone that the Flyers could move a player like Read who is in the last year of his deal. But there might have to be a deal before the season starts.

You probably see Lehtera and Weise get playing time. I do think if their contracts aren't what they are - that the odds of them washing the bathrooms go up.

I really would prefer to get G away from the opposition's top line which is who Couturier is going to see
Article today about the move to wing. Maybe he was just being a good soldier but he seemed to really like the move to wing. maybe a little less wear and tear on his body.
