Patrick hasn't finished yet, but it's more so the little plays he makes. He reminds me of Provy. A lot of subtle moves to get into space or get the puck into space.
I would like to see them hold onto a two goal lead in one of these games for their confidence. It's hard to get upset when the Isles are playing most of their guys in an emotional game at the Coliseum and we are playing mostly rookies and it went to OT. Tavares or almost any Islander in that lineup is a mismatch for the goalie that played the 2nd half of the game. - Flyers1218
Provorov is a great example. It took a little time to get Provorov's offense going in the first half of last season but the offense isn't remotely what made Provorov so impressive. He played well in his own zone and paid attention to detail by doing all the small things right. The only real rough game I can remember Provorov had last season was his first game against the Black Hawks. Correct my memory but didn't he score on them twice within seconds in his second meet against the Hawks? |

Numbering the lines isn't important when they're this balanced. Playing with Coots Voracek would get a ton of time against others teams best lines and he would get first PP time as well. Giroux should benefit from less time on ice and Patrick is in his first season so should get some sheltered offensive minutes in the first few months of the season. The fourth line has been getting way to much time from Hakstol over the last few years and should get less this year as well. - Slipperypickle
The way Voracek played defensively last year, I'm not sure I'd want him with Couturier. Although I agree, he would get plenty of ice time.

In general I dont want Coots and Voracek together.
Some of it from Voracek and some because of Couturier. |

Best two-way hockey of Voracek's Flyers career was while playing with Couturier a lot in second half of 2011-12. Then again, Jagr was here at the time and VoRacek was being groomed to move up in lineup. |

I get Morin, he broke up some nice plays. Wasn't that impressed by either Patrick or Lindblom to be honest. They had some half hearted shot attempts in that last powerplay I guess. Konecny was good but I thought Laughton and Raffl played the best among the forwards. Read was to easily pushed off pucks and I'd be happy to see him as the 13th forward. Oh and Vorobyev (probably didn't spell it right). Interesting to see whose job he takes because he looks like a future NHLer. Also Koresekov (again spelling : ) did enough to get a contract. - Slipperypickle
I thought Lindblom was rock solid today in his first NHL preseason game and Patrick he is his own as well. |

Caught the 3rd on my break while at work.
Konecny is a guy I just love to watch, but damn does he always take a beating. Little scared for him long term.
Thought Vorobyev looks great along with Lind and Morin. Little torn on Sanheim, can see the skill but some scares with the D play. Curious to see how he looks for the rest of pre-season.
Laughton should be 4C. |

See that Hextall has hired Dean Lombardi to assist him in management. I think Ron has done a great job as the Philly GM, restocking the prospect pool and making the Flyers have the potential to be contenders for years...But I don't know about Lombardi, think Hextall hired him out of loyalty, rather than Lombardi's ability to help the Flyers. Granted the Kings won two Stanley Cups with Lombardi as GM, but he was fired in LA after the Kings missed the playoffs in two of the last three years. Lombardi was responsible for extending 32 year old Marian Gaborik for seven years and extending Dustin Brown for eight years. This guy is going to help the Flyers? |

As long as they keep building they way they have been I will be happy. Wont hurt to have another guy there for some hockey IQ. I think Hex has been damn good, minus FA. As long as they are able to analyze which players are worth the expensive contracts. Not hand stuff out simply for blind loyalty.
Is a very "flyers gunna flyer" move though haha, nice to see the phrase being used here and there. |

I'm rooting for Laughton to be our fourth line something...
Lindblum is to beautiful to be a hockey player.
I believe someday Konecny is going to be hated by everyone not a Flyers fan around the league. |

Konecny is quickly becoming one of my favourite players on this team. Reminds me a little of Gallagher.
Just have to let some of these kids play through it this year. Its going to be ugly at times, but thats part of the fun. Let 'em loose.

Yes. All GM's eventually get fired. All GM's will make some mistakes. How does a few bad contracts offset two Stanley Cups? |

Exactly.
Hell, even ONE Cup is worth the right gamble.
Paul Holmgren is thought of in a completely different light if the 2010 team wins the cup. |
