Seems unlikely since they brought in Eberle to play with Tavares. I think it's pretty obvious that his uptick in production was largely a byproduct of who he was playing with.
- eichiefs9

Of course it was. That's what I said all along. Listen, if he keeps producing like he did last year, that helps his value and helps the team. I don't see it happening, but hey, what do I know.

Me too. Sparti gets a shot in once in a while. Albeit, they're usually accidental.

dont disagree here. Barzal, JHS, Beauvillier seem ready for the taken.
But 29 years off at 50+ point season you still have many years of great hockey.
Bailey might of been slow to come around but if he can match production of last year, it should not be ignored.

- Spartiarti

He won't even come close unless he is put on JT's line which looks unlikely right now. Last year was an anomaly for Bailey.

BTW- After listening to Chris King's calls on the goals yesterday thank facking god he didn't get the tv gig. What a nightmare that would have been. I can't take the high pitch voice cracking every time something good happens

True, but Bailey has lots of incentive to play hard THIS season, because he's playing for possibly his last NHL contract. So on that basis, it might be worth holding onto him for depth, if all we're getting back is a mid to late round pick.
- JohnScammo

I agree. Keep him for at the very least depth if the kids actually do excell and let him walk jist don't resign him. The one player he should let walk for nothing he probably won't.

It was very unsparti like. I can't even get the guy to flinch Kasper gets him going without even trying.

Nope. Snow will sign him to an 8 year extension at $4.65m per.

Why let him walk? Seems kind of dumb since some team will offer something for him.

I said that 100 times after Howie left. King sounds like a humpback whale being tortured when he shrieks out his goal calls. He's awful.

For the reasons i stated. Depth. If this team actually makes a push for the playoffs he's a player familiar with the team and the system. Keep him rather than get a 4th rounder for what? This is all based on if they are actually competitive and push for a playoff spot.
