If Jacks team wants $11.5 for him to sign now, I say "no way". Roll the dice and let him play out this year. If he scores 110 points and leads the Sabres into the playoffs like McDavid did, you can then pay him $12.5 X 8 years next July 1. He will have proven himself and he'll be worth it. Otherwise, there is absolutely no way he has earned the right to an $11.5 million X 8 year pay check. $10 million is more than fair market value based on what he has done and his potential for the next 8-years.

I generally like what the team has done, even with a head scratch or two.
I really like McDermit (sp?) and think the long term health of the team is in good shape.
It's the short term that will test us as I don't see them winning more than 4 games this year....which would be perfect and position us decently to find a stud QB in the draft.
So, in short...TANK ON BABY!
