But does OJ have a mean streak in him?
I read an article somewhere that was talking about why there are so many good Dmen coming out of Sweden.
Talked about how in Canada hockey is a rich man's sport cause to do all the extra training and camps and summer hockey you gotta have a lot of cash.
In Sweden a lot of these guys are farm boys and are tough. As hockey is a lot cheaper their development is not stunted by lack of cash.
Food for thought. - DuranDuran
On the note of Swedish development of players, they also typically move through the ranks all with the same team (barring a move or loans) so familiarity and consistency with coaches and whatnot helps further bolster their development.
In addition, they've recently been going to their Finnish neighbours to get a feel for their goaltending development and what helped them have a pretty strong collection of goalies in the past decade. Meanwhile, Finland has been mingling in the Swedish system to help improve their development of defensemen. Hockey associations in both countries are taking hints from one another and guys like Heiskanen, Juolevi, Vaakanainen, Sandstrom, Gustavsson (not Jonas) and Soderstrom have likely benefited from this form of exchange. |

I thought you packed it in? - VanHockeyGuy
No I said that I was taking some much needed time off, then I had to post again to ask several here to stand down, that I just needed time away from the group.
At which time I provided 3 names to EO to step in while I was away and to assist once I returned. I took about 5-6 weeks away, and things are better....more or less. |

Top 5 pick? - VanHockeyGuy
Oh its possible. Could see him slip like Liljegren because he isnt the best defensively. |

Other options could be Adam Boqvist and Bode Wilde. Both Rightys. |

Just got back from SOEC. Pretty uptempo practice compared to the Flames in the rink next door. |

I've see the comparison to Salo before Vantel, it's hard to ignore that Olli doesn't have that slap shot but I definitely could see him fill a similar role. Would be very satisfied if that happens |

I've always kind of kept an eye on Demko considering he was considered the best goalie of his draft and the Flames picked Mason MacDonald ahead of him in a head scratching maneuver. Still a little early to tell but you may have drafted the better goalie as MacDonald is seemingly pretty average... |

Yes. Very happy about Parsons! He may even surpass Gillies as our goaltender of the future. Good problem to have tho! |

Thanks Carol
Great to hear we have 3 refs, although with the way our friend likes to post it might not be enough.
OJ is going to be just fine .
Hes a smart player, if you don't notice him much then he's doing his job.
