Im not defending anyone elses comment, but truth be told Bettman was the one was convinced Wang and Sanjay "I'll take the fall" Kumar should buy this team.

The one postitive thing here, is that based on the comments ive read from Bettman, and I think it was the Mets owner, the isles seem to have a legit plan to build here. If you read between the lines, between their quotes, and Leddy saying the guys in the room know more, i would bet the isles will get the approval to build at Belmont and Tavares signs the extension here. I feel like all the cryptic quotes lead to that...

Bettman may have talked them into the purchase, but he didn't make them hire Snow, make any draft picks, etc. You know all that's happened with this team.
I do hope that they get an arena done and hope what you say is true. There definitely needs to be some stability with this team.

It's been right with the same sentiment and the captain still heads the ship. On paper to me the isles have a middle of the pack team. If the goalies can play up to speed and stay healthy I can see the isles being a 5th seed.

Isles are going to battle for last two spots as the pens jackets are clearly better then them. The rangers lost some key players and the caps lost a lot of them so they may not be too far off on those teams. Philly will be better but I don't see Carolina being better or nj for that matter. I think they take the 7 seed but they are not the 7th place team in division
