Let's be clear about one thing - Bo is substantially better than the midget drouin - and plays C - Bo is an absolute horse - Canucks don't have much going for them but this is one thing that they absolutely do...

OK, Nucks fans....do you guys like this deal? I'm sure I'll be labelled a "troll" here, but my honest opinion is that this is way too high. Horvat was a 20-goal scorer last season, getting tonnes of quality minutes because he played for a team with very few offensive weapons

And he'll be making $5.5M for the next six years???

The Leafs just signed Connor Brown, another 20 goal scorer with arguably a higher offensive ceiling, to a two-year deal at $2.1M per. I get that you've gotta pay more to secure a player for the long-term, but I just don't see Horvat as a $5.5M guy

What is up?

- AxlRose91

I'd take Bo over Brown 12 times out of 10

I don't recall any poster here calling Bo a third line center. I know DCT myself and a few others have said it would be nice to find two better centers because the talent level would be really high on this club.

Like a lot of things get twisted around on here by what they were suppose to mean.

I know for a fact that you have turned it into an art form of twisting what people say on here, and that is why so many posters find you extremely bloody annoying , myself included.

This group debates the talent level on here daily. Canucks are a long way from elite and should always try to find better players

As it stands right now, we have two centers that can play at the NHL level effectively. Neither one of those is a top line center or has the last name Sedin (I love them, but we have to look at this as it is). It stands to reason that we would want two more centers since we have two out of four, and one we would be better off upgrading down the road. Seems to me you really need to be strong up the middle to compete, because teams are so well coached. The best thing we have going for us is our D (which is kind of sad, if you think about it). We have two backup goalies sharing the starting role. bottom 3 finish.

When you suggest such stupidity, yes you will be labelled a "troll". Give your head a shake.

Things are starting to roll with Canucks. If Boeser and JV turn out to be regulars this year then I view it as a success

Totally, if 2 rookies can establish themselves, that'd be great.

My hope is that one of the goalies can prove they are a #1.
That would be a win in my books.

Utica having a great year would be a cherry on top.

Why are you being so defensive? The art form for twisting are done by others. You called out one today, for once, on them being an a$$. I'm not rehashing or going back to post the multiple posts made on this. I told a troll his timing was off. Nighthawk forgot what was said and asked. I kept it short for him.

But it seems you are confirming what I said that some think Bo will be a future 3C on a better team. As in when the talent and team improves to be a contender.

Really?! I can't see rushing JV back into the lineup as positive, I'm all about letting them gain confidence in the A. I do think we're moving the right direction though.

I dunno.
i think our D is suspect (would feel differently if we had Tree back there i guess).

I actually like our forward depth and the competition that JB has fostered.

I wish we had more D depth is all.

As a team that cannot score, it seems a bit ridiculous to call our forward group deep, you need a first line to be considered that. IMO our forward group needs the most work/time. Whereas the back end IMO is ok (not to be confused with good) with Edler-Stecher and MDZ-Tanev. Moving Hutton down to bottom pair was crucial. Our goaltending is the only area I could imagine being worse than our forwards, you want to talk about lack of depth

No one said he will be . Finding two better is not a simple task. Bo will probably be a shut down scoring center. A damn fine one at that. He is signed a 6 year deal and right now is the best core piece we have. Hopefully that changes very soon .

Good deal on Horvat, great to have a good young player locked up for a while. I think the future in Vancouver looks promising. Best case would be to have 7 Canadian teams in the playoffs to better our chances of getting a Cup back to Canada.

What happens if he just got his head screwed on right this year trained hard and it's time. There is no mention of bring him back early . Bring him back if he is ready .

If Bo figures out his defensive game his floor could be a better backlund/kadri type

I feel scoring will improve this year with Gagner, Brock and Loui (banking on a 2nd year improvement ).
I also think we'll have better replacements than Chaput, Megna and Skille this year with Rodin, Goldobin, JV, etc.

I reckon by the end of the year, we'll be happier with the forwards than the backend.
But.
That will likely have a lot to do with the goaltending.
No Miller will expose the D i fear.

I don't see Kadri's game as the same. He is more an instigator . I do like Kadri's game though.

I'm all for that. I'm also for erring on the side of caution. I like JV, personally I haven't forgot what he can bring when healthy out there banging hits and solid puck possession. If he comes back in primo shape and beats upshall(same type of player) so be it. if not, im ok with letting him get better in Utica

Nobody draws penalties like Kadri. He's like Burrows that way. If he were in a trade package for Tanev, I'd be excited.
