OJ skating is awesome. I was surprised when he got beat by speed a couple times. Good recoveries. Something he will learn playing bigger, faster competition. Lind looked like a player who can get the puck to the net, Gad looks like a player who is going to score a heck of a lot of garbage goals. Gads could be Vans next Burrows. Carcone showed some fight, literally.
- manvanfan

gadjovich definitely looked great, constantly after the puck and likes the front of the net. Good drive.
Same with Lind.

I have been listening to the morning crew 650 at the gym during the week. So far they are kicking ass over the completion on entertainment value.

Steve Darling is boring as crap though

One morning on Global they had his grade 3 teacher on and he was balling his eyes out. I lost what tiny little bit of respect I had for him then.
He is so f*cking vanilla. I don't trust people who don't drink ( by choice & not because they can't/shouldn't with respect to Vancity in Abby).

The one thing Jim said that I really liked was that he feels they have 8 or 10 guys that are going to be playing in Utica this season that he believes will be full time NHL players in the future. He added something we already know, that this organization has never had that before.
- thundachunk

It's all good and well that Jim says that, but he is dumber than people think if he believes it. We have come a long way but there is no way we have 8-10 guys in Utica who are full time NHLers IMO.

Molino was a standout for me. But for the most part I thought everyone looked pretty decent.

If OJ keeps progressing, using his speed and vision should lead to bigger and better things.

He really is the Prospect with the most to prove to me in my eyes. We know we are going to have a couple darn good forwards. But can he be the stud defenseman this team really needs? That's what I'll be watching for. And really hope he gos to Finland for the year.

Too soon for him to be here in my estimation. But in another 1-2 years he could really add a new dynamic to this teams blue line.

I've been a loyal 1040 listener for a long long time. Even though I cant stand half the personalities they have on that station.....

Been listening to 650 for the last couple of days and have really enjoyed essentially all they have offered so far.

Perhaps a little more vibrancy and life to the shows would be nice. They do seem a little mono tone at times. But the quality of discussion has been great to listen to.

I think people need to temper their expectations of a Stud defencman., In my mind that is a clear cut # 1 and I only think there are 15-20 of them in the league at any one time. I don't think he will ever be that but do think he is capable of being a solid 1st pair guy.

I agree, 5-6 out of that group would be great.

Thanks for the link.

I thought it was ok also, although I'm not looking to tear him apart, or find fault in him.

I completely agree. And my expectations arent uber high for him in the sense that I "Expect him" To be a doughty/ Keith/ Karlsson type player.

Not at all what Im referring to. Just want him to be able to do the things on this team that our D-men havent been able to do for sometime.

You know, Like contribue offensively..... That would be nice.

I will say this. He does possess the tools to be a 1-2 DMAN on this team. Question is does he utilize those tools and grow or just stay at this level of play.

Im guessing he turns out to be a very serviceable 3-4 dman when all is said and done.

Haven't listened since 650 started. I really like Sat Shah.
- Marwood

Shah is good.

Rintoul can get on my nerves, guess he is on in the afternoon, whiny voice always preaching back on 1040 Sekeres can be grating too. just hate the voices that sound like they are always lecturing and not discussing.

A serviceable 3-4. Wtf. Find one of those on just about every street corner.

In the highlight reels that I have seen of Juolevi over the past couple seasons, he reminds me a little of a cross between a young Edler and the current Hedman.
Nothing wrong with that IMO.

And yet many of them are still high draft picks. I think most would be stoked if Guddy can prove he is a 3-4.

Alzber, Hickey, Bogo, Schenn, Gudbranson, Reinhardt and on and on. More often than not D man taken 4-10 end up being 2nd pair at best.

Nothing he does reminds me of Hedman personally especially the current version. I certainly hope that isn't your bar for success. Even a young Edler was much more dynamic and physically engaged.

As Lefty said earlier, think Vlasic as our high comparable.

I see OJ as the second coming of Salo. I think he was the best player last night. He hit, he broke up plays, he dangled on the blue line and made a great saucer pass. He did it all,
