I think you're confusing "laughing at" with "laughing with".

trading phaneuf for a pile of expensive crap was a short term cost cutting move. phaneuf's declining salary was also a selling point in that deal.

trading zibinajed for brassard. brassard's salary < caphit. zib just got expensive.

I've been a Senators fan most of my life and don't really give a fvck what they do. Remove seats, paint the ice yellow, sell the team, build a new stadium ... It's all useless noise till the puck is dropped game night

Because it's embarrassing and worthy of being harped on. Under capacity in the playoffs...I had almost forgotten that until this news broke. Playoffs is where the money is made!

And what's worse? People in Ottawa see this as a Toronto media problem.

We get every piece of Sens news from Toronto based media outlets,do you honestly think they will ever put the Sens in a positive light??It doesnt sell to the huge fan base that Toronto has,so i cant say i blame them .

But the huge media spotlight cast upon Ottawa in a negative light constantly,does do its far share of damage .How are we ever supposed to grow the loyal fanbase here if all we hear about is how much better it is always in Toronto ,even when sometimes its not

It doesn't change demand. They are the cheap seats.

They are seats in the 'family fun zone' which are discounted for people with kids. Or seats in other areas that have promotions. They are the highest seats in the building. Season's ticket holders in better seats would never be pissed that some family got a promo to bring their young kids in the freaking nosebleeds.

As I said before, the Sens still had the highest attendance of all conference finalists. As soon as the playoffs start, that thing is coming right back off.

Actually, I've been a season ticket holder for over 10 years and I do get pissed when they have promos that gets 'regular joe' the same (if not better) price as me for similar tickets as I have! the promos are not just for the nose bleeds behind the net, they are for upper and lower 300s usually. I have a pair in the first row of 300 level and I find it is a slap in the face to your loyal season ticket holder when a guy can buy just 1 pair to 1 game 2-3 rows behind me for the same (if not better) price then I paid buying 44 games! They've only been doing this for the past 2-3 years...

I remember when I first started being a season ticket holder 11 years ago, it was hard to get anything in the lower 300 (not behind the net)...took me 4-5 years on a waiting list to go down rows every season and finally get my row A...

with the extras I buy and re-sell, it pays my entire season for me!
And on top of that with the long playoff run last year, it pays for next season plus the hot tub I bought!
