This is Bruins Hockey. So what's the media spin going to be?
-He's a coke head?
-Selfish, uppity kid. Bad locker room guy?
-(frank)ed someone's wife?
-Pill problems?
-He didn't want to be here?
-Disappears in the playoffs?
-All of the above?

There are some creative people out there. I'm sure you can find a tutorial. After all, its not like you work or anything.

Same here. I like long holiday weekends, but that generally means we work the following Saturday to make up.

Signed two free agents. Held out until the final hour of arbitration on spooner. Holding out on Pasta. He has had quite the productive summer.

If they deal pasta, it will be for 3 bottom six guys, a prospect that won't pan out and a mid round pick they will use on an obscure player no one has heard of.

Ahh it could be way worse. Chia would have already given Pasta $80 million with a full NMC. Sweeney has his faults but He's building bigger long term outlook than a Bruins GM in a long time

Chia would have probably traded him in a straight up hockey trade to Vegas for Jason Garrison or some poop. Chia isnt into the whole "winning trades" thing. Something he and Don have in common minus maybe one or two here and there.

yeah. it seems like chia sets his mind to trading a player and takes the 1st offer he gets.

Since Horvat and Wennberg signed contracts at $5.5m and $4.9m respectively, does that now lower the contract for Pastrnak? Seems to me if Pastrnak's camp want's to point to Draisaitl's deal, then certainly the Bruins can point to these guys? They're both first round picks that have produced similarly (not as good but similarly) to Pastrnak over 3 seasons... the other guys just don't have ONE big breakout season.

Horvat - 1st round pick, 9th overall
231 NHL games, 29G, 68A, 117pts (.506ppg)

Wennberg - 1st round pick, 14th overall
217 NHL games, 25G, 94A, 119pts (.548ppg)

Pastrnak - 1st round pick, 25th overall
172 NHL games, 59G, 64A, 123pts (.715ppg)

How much meth did you smoke this morning?

Pastrnak is easily the best player of that trio AINEC.

Those contracts are not good comparables. Leon Draisaitl has averaged 0.717 PTS/GP. Barely more than Pastrnak.

Just give him $7.5 million/season for 8 years and get on with it already.

i think mackinnon and is $6.3M deal is a good comparable. he averaged .71 pts/game. but over a larger sample.

i could see it being $6.1M to $6.5M for 7 years based on that deal.

I'm guessing if they are talking an 8 year deal, the final total will likely come somewhere between 54 and 58M for 8 years. (6.75 - 7.25M AAV). That's probably what it is going to take to make this deal work.

If I was DP88:

I'd wipe my @$$ with Sweeney's wife's tongue if he offers me that deal.

- DARKSEID

i don't think the draisalt deal changed the market.

reality is team's still hold the leverage with rfa's while offer sheets aren't a threat.

i think the bruins win the staring contest.

i don't think sweeney will have an issue ruining the season on principle.

drouin and trouba found this out with other gm's.
