exactly what Im saying.
Not so sure automatic penalty is the right way though, since you'll get guys turning their backs to you at the last second to draw the automatic penalty. So refs discretion is needed. - SMBDragon
the game is being heavily disrupted with these coaches calls and the amount of time it takes for the refs/tor to review. It sucks the energy out of an arena and really stops momentum for both teams. Coaches are a part of the team, and should be held accountable as players are. |

Sounds like the view of a new-gen fan
Bieksa was a force on this team before his age and playing style caught up to him.
His first full season he put up 12 goals and 42 points lol. Had he not been sidelined with shortened seasons due to injury, he likely could have had 4 or 5 more years of plus 40 points on top of the three he actually accomplished.
He was a 2-way warrior in his twenties. - Whiskey-Tango
He struggled that season back coming back from that freak injury and then was inconsistent in his 30's, but in his prime he was a beast for us. |

it was a sweet goal..but holy poop was that horrible defense....guy could have ate his lunch in front of the net before scoring.
he's had a nice stretch since returning to Sweden |

He's going to be a gamer. Hopefully he heads to Finland to play in the men's league alongside Petru under the supervision of Salo.
He might not be that Norris type, but if he can develop into a Salo type minus the injuries, this fanbase should be estatic. I know this fanbase has an extremely short memory span, but Salo was a shutdown/transitional beast.
Would have loved to see his advanced stats during his prime! - Whiskey-Tango
he was the single player that when he was out of the lineup there would be loses and when he was back a winning streak. One of the most valuable players the team had |

Our PP literally has not been the same ever since Salo left. He brought more than just the right hand shot to the PP as well. - LordHumungous

Playing devils advocate, had Hamhuis not gone down with injury in the finals, who knows how that would have gone....
 - Whiskey-Tango
Id have to agree. Our D got hit hard with injuries. And then Rome (who was playing very well in the playoffs) got that awful suspension. |

Did you see Dahlins blue line to blue line. Tape to tape pass to set up a goal in the same game? |

absolutely right - SMBDragon
this is why they are making coaches think twice about challenging a play. If a coach challenges when they are down 3-2, and it takes 10 minutes to review, its essentially a time out anyway. I don't mind the penalty ruling, makes coaches think twice about it. |

yes totally right. Thats also obvious here.
what I was saying was that a skate being 1/10th of a second off should not equal the same penalty as a boarding call. I agree with punishing the coach for the unwarranted delay just shouldnt be the same sentence length as a contact call.
Im all for increasing the length of certain contact calls to accomodate |

I think you are making a mountain of a mole hill. The league had extended penalties to 4 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and game misconducts depending on the offense. By your logic, you are looking at making penalties less/more impactful based on the severity which is a slippery slope. A penalty is a penalty, no need to re-invent the wheel. |
