I'm just shaking my head at people here, I normally don't defend Don because he and I disagree on what Bo is to this team and what he's worth (I think he's at best a complimentary elite 3C or lower tier 2C on a championship worthy team and Don disagrees). But him and I at least agree on one thing, this fanbase and some 'fans' on this board seem to have some f-ed up expectations for this team. I don't care if the kids play this year, this team is going to go nowhere for at least 2-3 years, so why use them up in the NHL where they'll be over their heads and learning how to lose?

One or two years in a competitive and contending team in Utica is not going to harm the kids and when they come up, they'll have a much better idea of their eventual roles on the team once the last of the old guard is gone. The other side of the coin is, the Oilers and Flames (who essentially will take over the top of the Pacific from SJ and Anaheim) will likely be in cap hell or close to it and won't be as strong as they are now, making it much more likely that we would be able to stack up against them in a playoff race or better yet, possibly beat them in the playoffs which is supposed to be the goal here.

I'll be really be disappointed. I'd rather they let them walk and take a shot at signing Stasney. He'd be easier to move as a single later in his contract and would be a decnet stop gap down the middle. They'd miss most likely on that... but signing the Sedins would mean they have no confidence in their drafting/trading at all. After that,,,, what reason is there to stick with this management?

We'll see. I hope they just come out and announce that talks won't happen during the season in an attempt to keep the distractions down. Of course signing them would also achieve that.

The sh#tty thing is that the Sedins (as much as we all want them gone) are still producing at a pretty good clip. Considering the only 34yr + players to outscore them in the entire league, were Zetterberg and Vrbata. Hell, they even outdid Thornton and Marleau, and look at the god awful contracts those two were gifted this summer. That sh&t terrifies me. Who'd have to think JB would wait until the end of this year to consider resigning them.
