wasnt sutter and granlund a pairing last season? For memory I think it wasnt productive.
I do like the sound of sutter and gagner though...

i liked Granlund with the Sedins tbh.

Not sure where Vanek would slot in.
He might take that winger spot on the 2nd line if Brock doesn't make the big club this year.

My only knock on Sutter is do not let him carry the puck.
His playmaking is a problem.

Vanek was selected 5oa in 2003 when JB was director of scouting in buffalo.
Not surprising he wants him here

I can honestly say I have no idea what the guys at the top are doing. The fact it's one year is great but I really thought after the first flurry of signings the remaining spots would be left for younger guys to battle it out for.

Ugh.

Over 7m left to sign BO once 3F's & 1D goes down to Utica.
Looks more like Rodin & Boucher battling for 1 spot.
I don't see BB going down.
Maybe JB is working on another trade idk

that would be most fans guess as well for that type of player.

Personally when it comes to the sedins winger Im more of the opinion to not let any player go too long on that line unless it is exceptional. Sedins I feel need to keep things fresh by stimulating them with a different type of player. It keeps them less predictable as well.

is this approach playing it safe?

so if the team does well this season will you be happy or disappointed?

Rome wasnt built in a day, and this team wont be a contender in a day either. Patience and development is what we have sought after for so long, so why not just call this season for what it is, and let the kids flourish in the A

Totally agree.
Changing that winger keeps the opposition guessing and seems to keep them fresh.
PF, speedster or a slow it down cycle in the corners type.
Only consequence is that it means the other lines keep shuffling it up as well.

Ya, they sure sucked those 3 or 4 years with Burrows on their wing.

Boeser belongs in the NHL in my opinion. The rest of them can marinate in the A
- CanuckDon

I think Boeser will play with Bo and Sven

Vanek Sedin line would be very very very very slow

Sven Bo Granlund
Sedin Sedin Bo
Loui Sutter Vanek
Eriksson White/Burmistrov (JVor Utica)

Rodin

and thats what made the burrows sedin combo so good. He was a versatile player so they could change their play as needed. Really was the 3rd sedin, just with better speed.
I'd say at this point sedins would need a winger that is fast and likes to skate in the offensive zone

rodin has the skills for it yes. We will see how his knee is now.

thats what I loved about burrows, he was always changing his position on the ice to reflect what they were doing and open a new type of play

When you have so many old farts you have to put them somewhere.

Lets see what the coach has for a line up. I have said many times you can't make this train wreck look pretty one bit. It is a horrible roster so see what you can do.

Spoiler alert: No matter what what you write down I will laugh in your face

Vanek is a positive because he is a sign and trade. The other old guys are the real problems.

This is by far the ugliest roster in the league this year.

I suppose with Bo getting double shifted it looks worse.
But i'll wait to see what Vegas looks like before handing out that dubious award.

Sedin/Sedin/Vanek
Baer/Bo/Brock
Loui/Sutter/Granlund
Gagner/Burmistov/Dorsett
Gaunce

Rodin/JV/White/Goldobin/Megna as callups.
Guarantee that old and brittle lineup has a ton of injuries this year.

- dbot

Sedin-Sedin-Granlund
Baer-Bo-Boeser
Ericksson-Sutter-Gagner
Vanek-Burm-Dorsett/Rodin/Virtanen (Burm has an offensive side so vanek could help)
Gaunce
