They are kind of screwed for roster spots though.
Per Aynsley Scott: Forward group with ALL waiver ineligible players sent down:
Sedin - Sedin - Vanek
Baertschi - Horvat - Granlund
LE - Sutter - Gagner
Gaunce - Burmistrov - Dorsett
Rodin/Megna - Codes1087
I fully expect them to waive Burmy/Dorsett/Rodin and/or Megna without caring much. I wouldn't think twice. |

I love all this what could have been stories years afterwards, they are always so interesting.
The bourque stories are cool, he wanted to be traded to the flyers but Bruins said nah Avs are your best shot at a cup.
After they lost in the west finals his last year, apparently Bourque and Roy tore sakic a strip on the plane ride home to say if Bourque is going to come back Sakic needs to be better and lead this team. - DDM-Coga
sakic and forsberg. *sigh*
i hated and loved watching them! |

You just worry about coaching. - Danny Bomber
Im not worried about coaching at all, Im looking forward to this group behind the bench
I feel the sedins are better off with a faster player on the wing. Makes it more versatile line with more options. Why make an entire line slow? |

Im aware its good for the younger guys to get seasoned in the AHL.

Boeser belongs in the NHL in my opinion. The rest of them can marinate in the A |

I think you give Boeser a chance, and if he belongs, let him play and make a move, but I am not opposed to him playing in the AHL. |

Some of the best, if not the best coaching this franchise has ever seen. An expert and/or technician for every aspect of coaching. From special teams to face offs to goalies.
That was a really good point about not making the Sedin line slow. Sometimes I don't see the whole picture. |

None of the signings in the off season, or this signing in Vanek, takes us to a playoff calibre team. I am treating 90% of all of the free agent signings (or the 1 year contracts anyway) as just tradeable assets. I am excited for the 2018/2019 season when the Sedins are gone and we REALLY have some stiff competition with some of the younger players. Weircoch/Burmistrov/Vanek - essentially I am just looking forward to seeing what we get for them at TDL |

Hard to know for sure without a good long look over say 40 games. But so far all signs point to being on the team |

Boeser, Goldobin, Molino, MacEwen, Virtanen, Holm, Chatfield, Dahlen (Europe or Utica). Let them all develop properly. Let Utica have a winning atmosphere. Let them really fight for spots once the Sedins leave and 2 spots open up next summer - Codes1087
Fine with all those other than BB.
BB has nothing to learn or gain in Utica. |

It's barely a thing. Most of the younger generation is listening to their favorite music, satellite radio, or podcasts on their phones. Team 1040 isn't even a top 10 station in Vancouver according to the ratings. - Nucker101
Ramp up the hysteria and you might get more attention. My attitudes have changed about who forms the canuck fanbase. I always thought of it in terms of the Vancouver city market. But since I've spent a lot of time in the Fraser Valley I've been introduced to a whole new kind of canuck fan.
Those boys eat up drama and hate and get real pump up about it. I overhear them in the Veddar McDonalds or at any of the Chilliwack gas stations. Pick up trucks and Affliction gear. You know the type. Lots of them. That's your market. |

I can honestly say I have no idea what the guys at the top are doing. The fact it's one year is great but I really thought after the first flurry of signings the remaining spots would be left for younger guys to battle it out for.
Ugh. - vancity787
I don't like the fact that it makes the canucks more competitive. |
