No issues there. If London lets him go to Finland that's fine. Though it's nice if rookie D get sheltered minutes when breaking into NHL. You know there will be injuries and tons of minutes up for grabs. If he earns that now or next season is up to what he shows.
As for Stecher he's a gamer for sure. Makita and others kept going on about his defensive holes. So maybe sheltered minutes to start the season would help and not give him the sophomore jinx. - Nuck4U
That is IMO the best thing that could happen for this guy, continue to play him like last year and he will top out as a 5-6 defender, let the new great hope of a coach properly developed him maybe he could realize 3-4 status. |

So would signing RD Franson as stop gap/TDL bait make that work out for Stecher?
Whys is TG a great new hope? Would be nice if he can change the style for better development and more offense. |

Franson is a pylon who overrates himself wanting more than 1yr.
Not worth even talking about.
Speed skill & draw more penalties creates offense not coaches.
Lack of enough playmakers is our problem holds back our scoring.

So starting the 18-19 season, Vans new playoff kryptonite is the Edmonton Oilers. Yes Vans making the playoffs in 2 years. |

That is where all the 1 way deals will play a role. Not all teams want 1 way deals in their minor system. And if they are fringe players on the Canucks, they're fringe players on the remaining 30 teams as well.

The issue is that even when Green doesn't produce there will be the so many excuses and praises because the armchair coaches will not admit that they know (frank) all about coaching, strategies, systems...etc, but will continue to pump their chest like they are experts.
I get tired of the he will be so bloody good, and look at the team he will get. Crap. - Makita
Hey buddy, I don't know about you, but I coach a women's, pre-teen basketball team.
Unlike the vast majority of posters here, I am completely qualified in evaluating coaching. |

I didnt like the hiring of Green. Im going to give him a fair shake. I except them to be in the 70-80 at the end of this season. Anything more good. Anything less im a bit disappointed.
I also have coaching certification. Its not in hockey specifically. I also dont coach any team because of work. |

From now on, I refer to you on all things coaching. I use to follow Dragon but you seem to know WAY more.
Edit: Dragon I flagged myself for using your name. |

Agreed.
I don't particularly care where and how we finish, I simply want to see some offensive-minded, possession hockey. That dump and chase/cycle garbage we witnessed the last few years was boring as (frank). |

Canucks make a lot of head scratching moves. They fire a rookie coach and hire a new one.
They still have a rookie coach GM and Prez. I could go on and on but like Nucker I won't rehash the Benning era |

It's the only way brother.
Coaching is an elusive, secretive and exclusive basis of knowledge.
Only a select few hold the rational to fully comprehend it's existance.
