Vanek is your guys then. He's the kind of guy who''s get you 20-25 more goals but also float like a lazy (frank) and cost you goals against. So the differential is about the same but we get more 4-2 losses instead of 3-1

MDZ / Tanev - wants to lead offense / best shut down D
Edler / Guddy - easier role / needs to prove contract or trade value
Hutton / Franson - more manageable minutes / steady enough on D

Perhaps have Stecher, maybe OJ if he earns it, on spot duty to learn through sheltered minutes...?

If OJ is going to be learning (and not playing lots) he should learn from Salo in finland. Stecher is way better then Cody Franson, and probably tougher too. Plus aside from maybe now Del Zotto Stecher is the most offensive Dman Canucks have. With the amount he shoots, and guys who can pickup rebounds like Vanek/Gagner/Boeser, i expect big things from Stecher
