Vanek is your guys then. He's the kind of guy who''s get you 20-25 more goals but also float like a lazy (frank) and cost you goals against. So the differential is about the same but we get more 4-2 losses instead of 3-1
- Nucker101

Ill take that. The entertainment value last year was the most painful thing I've ever watched as a Canuck fan and I was born in the 70's

I wouldn't sweat it, this team still sucks.
- Nucker101

Yup.
Some decent stop-gaps to keep the young ones on track in Utica and called up when they've SHOWN the are ready for some sheltered NHL minutes.
This team won't be as embarrassing as last season. I hope.

Nice to see some fresh blood in here!
Hopefully it will help drown out the whining, flagging, PM'ing and epic saga posting. Try to agree with Nuck4U or he will be screaming for the thread to be locked down.
Other than that, most everyone here is pretty cool.

This was a good hockey post that I can salute you on. But you then followed that up with your dark side again. Oh well baby steps. Just like the Canucks this season.

I'm okay with an embarrassment as long as it's a top 3 pick

I would agree but to vantels point is there really any benefit to missing the playoffs by 4 points? Either be "real good" or take a top 5 pick. The middle of the standings doesn't help us.
- CallmeTiny

So we miss the PO's by 4pts. Ok
What good happened that the fans would be glad to see?
Eg what positives out of this negative scenario was there.

To be happy with that, I'd need multiple young players to really positively surprise us this season. Otherwise, that'd actually be incredibly annoying.

It's still a bad team. A top 5 pick is likely.
- Marwood

Odds r pretty good that's the case 👍
82 games of who knows what for us to get there.

I seen a lineup by Satir Shah last night thart was interesting but I hate that people still look at the Sedins as top line . Here is his lineup

Sedin Sedin Granlund
Sven Bo Boeser
Loui Gagner Vanek
Gaunce Sutter Dorsett.

Canucks management are full of sh1t though saying if a young guy outplays another player he will be given a shot. That is total BS. Let's say JV or Goldobin has a great camp they are not stealing Louis Danny or Vaneks spot. It is all window dressing

- VANTEL

Pretty close to a starting lineup.

Probably will start Loui with Sedins and Granlund with Bo or Gagner…many ways one could configure.

Can see Gaunce in the AHL and Burmistrov starting with Sutter and Dorsett.

Hindsight: Gillis/Gilman and their NTC/NMC era.

Can you imagine how much better off Canucks would be if they hadn't given Trade Clauses to Lu Kesler Bieksa Garrison Hamhuis Burrows Hansen the Twins and Edler

Pisses me off but it is history. I wish I could say lesson learnt but we have Erisson and Sutter and had Vrbata

- VANTEL

We were 60 minutes away from a cup with those guys minus Garrison…it is what it is.

Exactly. You think for a second that team fits under the cap if they don't hand out those NTC's? And Hansen/Burrows/Bieksa still got decent returns anyway.

And how about handing out NTC's to 30+ years old when you should be rebuilding? That's a million times more infuriating.

I predict 30 goals from Vanek this season. 2 million well spent.
- thundachunk

He'll get you 20 and close if not over 40 pts…he's pretty consistent when healthy in reg. season.
