Outside of a Horvat line, no other line is better than the Sedins right now. People can pretend like spoonfeeding bottom 6 players top 6 minutes will make those players magically better, but that ain't happening. It's not the Canucks bottom 6 last year was some sort of a bright spot that outplayed other team's lines. The entire forward group sucked and outside of Horvat, no forward was being held back. Horvat should have been on PP1, no other player was getting held back by coaches.

Granlund had second highest points so that is debatable

You mean way back then when I PM'd your own posts back attacking me....

Touchy aren't we. Looks like you are after some kicks before your flight. Have a good one. I'm done engaging you on this.

I don't think many spots are gifted. There will however be some real high compete levels at training camp this year which is good.

I'm in transit here but a 2 million dollar contract all but guarantees his spot, if he gets waived your GM just threw 1.2 million dollars in cap space out the window and he'd be fired on the spot. If Aquilini has the business sharps Donnie professes.

TG will be key on getting him into position to add to that this season. It's a contract year so you'd think Granlund is up for it.

We are in a holding pattern waiting for development to kick in.

TG will be busy covering his own ass. He has one shot at being a NHL coach and probably influenced Benning to go out and get him more NHL talent. He probably could care less about developing young guys. He wants to win

I predict 30 goals from Vanek this season. 2 million well spent.

I think you mean goals, I think we've done this before but goals aren't the only way to evaluate a forward. Plus I'll bet anyone here he won't score as many next year, his sh% is too high. He's a lock to have less goals and more assists than he did last year.

He's not a top 6 forward that's being held back by the Sedins roster spots.

October 12. We could make it an anniversary of the day this site really turned to poop.

Of course TG wants to win that's his job. If getting more offense from Granlund gets him there he will do it.

TG signed a long term contract as HC for a team that was expected to and did finish second last in the league. Bar isn't high. Development of younger players is a measure of success for him in rookie year. Especially if he can have them out play the Sedins.

Agreed 100%

Developing players is secondary to him. I 100% think he laid out what he wanted Benning to go out and get at the start of the summer.

1) PMD partner for Tanev
2) Help with secondary scoring and PP
3) More veteran depth in general

I think he's a better systems coach than WD, but I don't think he's going to make life easy for the young guys.

As long as mgmt stops tossing second rounders out like they are doggy crap bags
we should be thankful. For too long they acted like they might catch some disease if they kept their picks. If Benning retains all his picks at least there is some slight progress to see.
