Does anyone know if there is a limit to how many waiver wire pickups a team can make? - bloatedmosquito
As long as you do not have over 50 contracts there is no limit . I think the Leafs had about 20 playing on their roster 3 years ago |

Any pick is value at this point. Vanek wieroch burmistrov for anything and i will be happy - Codes1087
This is why I'm surprised folks aren't more upset about the possibility of losing Gaunce on waivers. Losing Gaunce is no big deal but that's a poopty legacy for a first round pick. |

Why is Vet gifted spots okay but Kid gifted spots not okay? - VANTEL
Well you are assuming they will be gifted spots. What happened last year with Stecher? Given their recent history I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Spots are open for competition |

If we lose Gaunce we can just extend Danny to age 45 |

I don't think many spots are gifted. There will however be some real high compete levels at training camp this year which is good. |

So lets say if Goldobin comes in training camp and scores 7 goals he gets top line LW ?
He did score 4 goals in his last two games in Utica on a crappy team. We both know t
Top line LW is a gifted spot no matter what happens at camp
BTW Stecher was sent down after training camp last year even though he was better by a mile than Larssen. He had to wait for injuries |

Very true, but the Canucks aren't in a position to be trading (or throwing away) first round picks. If you don't want this rebuild to last ten years then a GM has to milk every ounce he can out of those first round picks.
First round picks don't always pan out but you hope a GM is savvy enough to get some value out of that pick. |

I was going to post something similar. The twins are definitely gifted time on first unit power play. |

Like trading Jensen and a 6th for Etem? Or like trading away the 1st along with Bernier & Grabner for Ballard & Oreskovich and then letting Oreskovich walk and buying out Ballard, that kind of value?

Yeah Canucks do not really believe in competition . They say the right things but their actions slap them n the face every time.
We still haven't begun the rebuild yet |

He spent more games up there than he did on the ice, so I'd say ya. |
