You're right. They should be able to do that. The problem is that Harrington doesn't know how to do that objectively.

Pach manages to be critical without being a complete assbag. Harrington should take a few notes, IMO.

I have read/heard a few decent pieces from him

just like with sully, the hate for him IMO blinds the few good things he says/writes

this team has gone what 10 seasons w/o a series win?

Harrington has written a few good things here and there. The problem is that they're very few and very far between.

By being pessimistic dippoops?

Its like Rich Cimini, the beat reporter for the Jets for ESPN. He's OBSESSED with the buttfumble, constantly praises the patriots, and takes every opportunity to trash the Jets or make them look clueless. Well guess what. The Browns beat reporter certainly seems to be able to critically analyze his team without constantly trashing them.

Pach, at least you approach the team critically. You don't spend your blogs ranting (hello Tanner) or making up crazy predictions about how crazy awesome the team is (a la Garth). You give the facts, provide your analysis of those facts, and then leave the readers to make their own conclusions. All without poopting on the Sabres.

If Harrington doesn't want to cover the Sabres in a fair manner because they have been bad the last few years the find another (frank)ing job. Boo hoo Eichel doesn't want to talk to me cuz I rip the team in the papers. What the (frank) do you expect!?

Really? Last we heard he was playing in tournaments and ready to go for the season.

Maybe he will get a little faster if he lost weight, he was looking kind of chubby and slow last season IMO.

Jack is hands down the best choice for captain and he is the face of the franchise. The question about whether he is mature enough comes from his hatred to lose and the fact that he wears his heart on his sleeve. He doesn't pull punches. What you see is what you get. And what I see is a Sabres player who bleeds blue and gold. I'm tired of players who just want to collect a paycheck - Jacks words not mine. Jack wants to win. It's like a thoroughbred horse that instinctively knows how to win. And one more thing. I'm tired of fans berating Jack for speaking his mind. It's about time someone on this team takes a leadership role and problem is the fans are so used to losing they don't know what and how a winner acts like.

Guy 1 had a beard, and seemed like - I don't know - a really young middle school teacher or something like that. Everything about him screamed "nice young man" and reeked of "went to this bar because Yelp has great reviews." This is a guy who almost certainly never carved his own path.

Guy 2 was a white guy with a fro. I would bet tech job, or engineering maybe, and loads of confidence for all the wrong reasons. Smart, but no savvy of any kind. Carves his own path all the time, and usually in the wrong direction. He probably found the Yelp reviews and orchestrated the whole affair.

Guy 1 and Guy 2 both trying like hell to impress the two girls, without the first clue how to accomplish that. Guy 1, Romeo, "Here ladies, try the rum and cokes (they're doubles!)." Guy 2, Superman, "Just stand back while I fix this for all of us."

Both girls talked way too much, probably covering up how nervous there were to be in such a "raw, gritty" environment. I felt sorry for them that Guy 1 and Guy 2 were there best options for the evening.
