Yeah that's some pretty tasty size with the young group:

Morin 6’7 - 6’8
Myers 6’5 - 6’6
Sanheim 6’3 - 6’4
Wilcox 6’3 - 6’4

It's still hard to believe that Simmonds goal sent game 82 into OT, giving the Flyers the 13th spot in the draft lottery, and they won the 2nd overall pick with it.

I think if Carolina had won in regulation Patrick would be a Jet.

- Feanor

The best part was all the gnashing of teeth and self immolation we heard from the peanut gallery. Oh woe, what will we do with the 13th pick? Our future is a loong nightmare from which we will never wake.

Imagine if Nick Suzuki turns out to be better than Nolan Patrick? This place will burn for ten years.

Now let's remember the fan outrage triggered by that shoot out loss that appeared to cost them a draft slot.

The question is always "what goes the other way?". I don't see a match as trading partners in a theoretical deal to bring back JVR. Hextall is adamant that he won't trade for players in their late 20s at a cost of top prospects or 1st round picks. But what else could the Flyers realistically trade for him?
- bmeltzer

Of course, and as a realistic Flyers fan, it's not feasible from a roster standpoint, as well as a methodical standpoint, as Hexy has obviously preached he will not trade assets. Unfortunately hindsight is 20/20, but he is exactly what G needs in my opinion.

Just for fun though, I would start with a package of hagg and a first. I am not sure about Toronto's goalie pipeline, but perhaps Stolarz/Tomej could be included as well.

It's actually sad to think about what could have been between those 2, since I loved their chemistry prior to that fateful June night of the trade, but I feel like with his contract status, the game he plays, and the relationship with G, it could be a home run.

Just food for thought, keep it up as always Bill!

I'd also see it as a reason not to sweat the little things. Especially when it involves the Flyers trying to win hockey games.

I don't have any interest in JVR at this point and would rather keep Hagg and the pick.
- MJL

Neither do I. I was just responding to Bills answer to someone's question about acquiring JVR. That ship has sailed for me. The trade still stings mainly bc JVR was primed to become my favorite flyer for the time. I rather keep all of our d prospects.

So any predictions on who could be the next big rival of the Flyers? I know it's tough to know for sure because it could come from a playoff battle or even an in game incident, but based off team performance/competition and hate...

I am going with Toronto.

I have no interest in JVR unless he could be had in a trade for Weiss ..
At this point dont want to look back on the rebuild and want to keep going the way they are.

Leafs have always been my favourite rivalry. Hate that the new division format and schedule has diminished half the rivalries in the League.

Give me 1 less game against each Western Conference Team and 1 or 2 more against the rest of the Eastern Conference please.

I forget exactly, but based on other games I believe there were like 2-3 spots still open to them. I believe you are right though. The rest of the games staying the same, it would've only been one spot

FWIW, my rivals list:
1. New (frank)ing York (frank)ing Ranger (frank)s

2. Penguins, until Crosby retires, then they will go back to being irrelevant until Bettman can fix another lottery and get them their next franchise player

3. The Devils, can't forgive them for trying to ruin hockey with the trap

4. Toronto, Darcy (frank)ing Tucker

5. Montreal, their fans are such pretentious douchebags

6. Washington, they just piss me off

7. Columbus, mainly because I have to look at Tort's obnoxious smirk/sneer

8. NY Islanders, they're from NY and (frank) you, Leon Stickle

9. Edmonton, Manning tried to kill our Precious!!! WAAAUUGGHH!!!!

10. Panthers, those stupid (frank)ing rats

Good list. I would put Washington above the Leafs. And while I hate the Rangers, I still feel they are 2 behind the Penguins, especially in the 21st century.
