How is the Matthews goal against the canes or the Komarov goal off the Matthews behind the back behind the net pass not there ?

The reaction after that goal is enough to make it goal of the year.

I gotta agree with burn for once.

Consumers Distributing. I remember those awkward years transitioning between perusing the toy section to the women's undies. Good times.

Greatest time of the year as a kid (pre-jacking days) was getting that catalogue in October or so, for the Christmas shopping. Some of the pages would have lost the gloss in the corners dreaming about a Sega or which Transformers I wanted.

Then it all went to hell when I learned our hand trick.

Kapanen's OT winner in the playoffs was pretty sweet. Not a huge skill goal but a nice play by Boyle. In terms of sheer excitement this was my favourite goal this year.

Matthews losing the draw on purpose to set Connor Brown up for a goal after dancing the opposing centre off the draw. Brown looked like his brain needed to reset.

I'm kind of tempted to go out and get a skin mag for old times sake.

Is sounds like a nice bit of perverse nostalgia but then you have to buy a bunch of decoy items you don't really want and awkwardly mill about waiting for everyone else to leave the store. I can just fire up the hub and be done in the time it takes me to get to the store and back and it doesn't cost me anything except what's left of my dwindling dignity and self respect.

I remember watching this live on TV and being at a loss for words. What an impeccable play. Definitely one of my favourite goals of the year.

Both of these times in our lives were magical in their own way. Personally, I'll take wanking over gaming any day of the week. Thankfully due to the wonders of technology these two things can now be combined. What a time to be alive.

I drove past Tom Thomson park Wednesday. Five days in the north west section of Algonquin. Did a loop and stayed on North Tea East Arm, Three Mile, Manitou, North Tea West Arm. First time in that part of the park. Gorgeous but Tom Thomson did not go paddling past. I'd definitely go back there.
- BlueBallz

That's cool man.. I actually lived very close to there for a bit (Chisholm)

The north east part is the best tho.. greenleaf, eustache, the natch, Barron canyon etc.. but where you went is nice in the fall with all those hardwoods.

Yeah I don't know what I enjoyed more the goal or the komarov celebration.

That GIF is just a little too short for the money shot. I want to see a little longer on that one and the Kadri/Buffalo goal GIF all the way to where he punches Risto in the face.

Should have had the C sewed on his jersey before his next shift

Im honestly a little ticked that there hasnt been more conversation around giving it to Matthews..

i mean, he only scored 40 goals as a rookie and got us to the playoffs.. Theyre gonna give it to him eventually why wait (frank)? lets give this team a captain already!

I think they should wait.

He's a kid, just got to the center of hockey universe after being the #1OA, scored 40g and helped lead the Leafs to the playoffs for the first "real" time in a long time....let him enjoy that for a while.

Let him slowly get use to being the savior before you literally put the whole team on his back with the C.

I say one more year. Let him and the team get through this upcoming 7 rookie, sophomore year. Let him learn a little more from Marleau and Martin and Koma and Bozie and Kadri. Let the other players see his skill for one more year so they can really respect it. Let him settle into the league which I find takes 2 full seasons.

I can always tell the difference in a player after 2 full seasons, see: Kadri, Rielly, Gards....just go watch some old interviews. It's the year they really feel comfortable in the league...some take 3 but usually after 2 they feel right at home.

Then let that desert (frank)er loose...with the C on his jersey!!!!

He ain't gonna learn poop from those jabronis... he's already way better than all of them. This isn't your grandpas NHL, this is a young mans game. This team needs a clear leader and we have one in Matthews.. He did everything perfect last year, but people still want to wait.. i dont get it.

I don't get why people even give a (frank) about the C.

Our team did quite well last year without a C.

Our team sucked balls with Phaneuf wearing the C.

I really don't even think they should do Cs or As. It served a ego purpose for kids playing and, at one point, served a purpose in the NHL with which players could speak to the refs but it seems to be an antiquated concept that just doesn't matter any more.

The team knows who the leader is without putting a C on their jersey. The refs and coaches seem to know too.

Not sure why it creates such a fan boner to some. What does it really matter to the fans anyway?!?!

im not about to debate why teams give out "C's" and "A's"... its always been like that and if you think thats egotistic that fine lol...

So the Leafs should go rouge and not have lettered jerseys?

screw that...

You remember the guys who wore the C.. Sundin, Clark, Dougie.. (frank) pha9 you have a point.. he shouldnt have been captain.. but dont falsely equate AM34 to that pylon...

It matters, a lot.. and the Leafs need to name Matthews captain sooner rather than later.
