Beau being included is definitely a thought. Since Snow is always the smartest one in the room, he wouldn't consider it. Why, you ask? Because he drafted Beau. Beau hasn't proved what he can do yet. Hence, he was still a great pick and not touchable via trade. Now, signing Kerfoot and packaging him up, different story.
- Isleshockeyman

Pissing off one of the more high-powered NHL agents probably wouldn't be a good look for Snow and certainly wouldn't help down the line if he's trying to sign other players that JP Barry represents.

It's my feeling that he can't play there this year after what the team has done to him, not saying isles are a fit but someone could make it work
- Upstate_isles

There's always a way to make it work. One side just had to submit to the wants of the other. Based on what's been reported, Sakic keeps jumping the asking price up. Not worth it. Beau, Nelson & a 1st would be my top price. Don't like it, fine.

It's not that I wouldn't trade de Haan, but I just don't think they have anyone ready to step in and fill those minutes adequately. Toews looks very promising, but it's still too early to toss him into an important role.

The way snow talked about the dehaan deal it's like he's out the door next year anyhow idk maybe that's my interpretation

There's certainly an excellent chance of that. It's not that he's invaluable, but someone has to play there and if it's Hickey or Seidenberg then that's........bad.

I'm not saying that would/could happen, just a thought. Don't know who his agent is, don't care. Bottom line is Snow will not land him. Even if he did, the only thing I'd care about is if he could play. Like I said in my response to that post, pretty presumptuous to think we'd all be suicidal because of it.

I think snow wants to keep him for one more year to let pulock and pelach get sheltered a bit and then let them take over more prominent roles next year and have toews step in. Personally I like dehaan and would have been happy with a longer deal

Putting Snow aside for a moment, I can't figure out why Kerfoot or his agent would want him to sign here, from a roster standpoint. He'd have a pretty big uphill battle to overtake Nelson/Barzal/Beauvillier or he'd have to switch to wing and we already have an overall-logjam at forward.

Yes, exactly. Why would he want to go to the Isles? Throw in the arena thing and, what would the attraction be? He's not signing here. No way, no how.

Not that Snow hasn't proved himself to be an bumhole to most of the agents in the league so I don't think that's an issue at all.

DeHaan is ok. I don't have many issues with him. He's a good 2nd/3rd pair defenseman. I think Pulock & Pelech definitely need a long look at camp. Having a 1st PP unit with JB & 2nd with Pulock is the way to go.

Remember all the Vessey talk? The hopes that some people were having and talking about. The Rags are a better team & better run than the Isles. What did Vessey do? Not a whole lot.

Vessey had an ok year but he filled a need. The Rags core was getting old and they needed to inject some speed and youth and Vessey filled that imho. He also played 80 games.

The Islanders have no room at center and honestly I'm miffed that Snow had any interest with, Nelson, Beau and even Barzal competing for the 2C , 3C role.

Money will be the same anywhere so he gets to choose playing time and a fit and also which organization do you want to play for. Again it isn't The Islanders NFW!

Alex Kerfoot expected to make a decision on NHL future soon. As many as 10 teams expressed interest. Van, NYR, SJ, NYI and Col in final 5.

So that's a thing. Maybe whoever it was that said we'd all freak out if the Isles signed Kerfoot will get to see if that prediction comes true.

- eichiefs9

I'm not sure if he'll be able to resist a 3rd line center spot on the soundtigers?

Is it sad to feel good we made the final 5

On a side note duchene has to be moved before the season I mean they have dragged the kid through the mud, how can he want to play there after all of that?

- Upstate_isles

You guys don't need him though. Be nice to get a free player, but he probably wouldn't see the NHL with the depth you guys have at center.

these are the comments made by Isles fans that crack me up. they just lost their starting first line Center and one of their top 4 D-men b/c they had to make some cap room. They lose scoring and depth every year and replace it with kids. We have only lost to them once in the last 2 1/2 years. They are a top 5 goalie away from being the worst team in the Metro.. but they are better than the Isles and are better run that the isles?

Vesey went there b/c he knew he would get to play. That is the same reason Kerfoot should go there... They have no depth. Their young talent last year was a 3rd round pick that is a head case. ... A lot of teams are Better and run better than the isles. The Rangers are not one of them.
