A case can be made for Richards and Carter above Briere but no way I can agree on Hartnell. Briere never lived up to the expectations created by his 95 point season but he scored some of the biggest goals during that era. Was a factor in almost every playoff series he was in.
- Baxter27

Briere was a big time big game player. Briere ahead of Hartnell. No question in my opinion.

Definitely one of my favourites. I'd still have him above Carter and Richards for being the class act that he was.

Hartnell's twitter comments to his (now) ex-wife during their divorce make him better than Briere.

He was a class act. Not to open up a can of worms and I don't want to rehash it but I never bought into most of the what I consider nonsense towards Richards and Carter.

I think there were a lot of false rumors but I still wouldn't consider them close to Briere's class who went above and beyond with fans and the organization.

and I bet the pens are real upset about that

They won't be if that predicts the future of their franchise. They'll be facing another bankruptcy in 4-8 years.

Eh, some of it was probably true - boys being boys and all that crap. And comparing Briere to them is comparing a man to boys (during their time here).

Question for regular ticket purchasers. I'm attempting to get tickets for a couple back to back games in January. I do see some available on stub hub but am wondering if it's better to wait for them to go on sale on ticket master and when that typically would be. Or if there are any better alternatives to get the best value on tickets.

Thanks in advance!

Briere was special in that regard.

The ones on Stubhub right now are season ticket holder seats that they are selling. It's they way the Flyers prefer you sell them on the secondary market. So much so that if you sell your tickets there Stubhub notifies the Flyers and the STH is not held liable for any shenanigans the purchaser does.

Makes sense, I use it for everything in Toronto. Seeing tickets between 50 and 80 USD, can't imagine I'll do much better on Ticket master. Thanks!

Flyers farm system ranked #1 by ESPN? What's up with that?

Not that the Flyers' system was voted #1, but that ESPN acknowledges hockey exists.

They are hurting right now. Actually more like bleeding profusely. They are probably hoping that giving some coverage might make them gain a few hits.

I agree with you on this. I've enjoyed the last couple seasons but the plot is definitely off from the prior seasons. More predictable, more payoffs and cheap thrills. Still love the show. Next episode looks amazing!

Fixed
- Bonerfide69

So you "fixed" it by changing the players to ones who were signed as veteran free agents by the Flyers, instead of players who were drafted 1st overall, 2nd overall and 25th overall by the Bruins.

You've really got the old brainbox working hard today.

The Boston-reject line would be a pretty good one.

Briere lived up to the playoff hype he set by the two playoff appearances prior in Buffalo. This is all that matters. In fact, Briere might have carried us to the 2010 final.

Briere over Richards, Carter and Hartnell forsure.

I do buy into at least half of the rumors set against Carter and Richards. We were a weak Matinee team on weekends. Laviolette had to offer dry islands. The partying photos. Richards current situation with the possession of drugs.
