Goooooooooooooooooooood morning everybody!
Is Peluso really considered alumni?!?!? I try to black out memories of that time period but I thought he was only in on a PTO and then never played a regular season game?
On a side note IF is interesting through the first 4 days....
Have a better one and remain blessed! |

The roster is cut to a single squad, who will be the team for the remainder of the tourney. |

@ Doc
Think of it like like the first few pre-season games of the NHL season when the Flyers have split squad games |

Peluso dressed in one regular season game with the Flyers so, yes, he counts as an Alum. |

It's like a split squad preseason game. They have two teams with (relatively) the same number of the guys expected to make the true team on each team. When they play combined, half of the players from those 2 teams sit and only the expected guys play. |

What about if you only played in one playoff game? I don't think Jared Ross ever played a regular season game for them. He did, however, play in Game 3 of the 2009 ECQF vs. the Penguins (and scored a goal).
Edit: Nevermind, he played a handful of regular season games. |

They use the standard of at least one regular season or playoff game. Example: Bruce Cowick is considered a Flyers Alum, although he only played in the 1974 playoffs.
Ross played in 13 regular season games and nine playoff games with the Flyers. |

Gotcha.
I always found it odd that playoff goals don't count as "NHL goals." Sergei Fedorov scored 535 goals in the NHL, but since 52 came in the playoffs, he's not considered a 500-goal scorer.
I get it that you don't want to give "extra" games to guys who make the playoffs, but he still scored 500+ goals in NHL action. |

From the last thread re: the home run-saving catch
To me, this catch was made in the bullpen, not in the field of play. I see it kind of like the NFL out of bounds catch rule. He jumped, made the catch, and then landed in the bull pen. In baseball, does it matter where he ends up? Could a player theoretically go a few rows deep into the bleachers and a make a catch to have a player be out? |

I agree. In fact, whenever I write career retrospective pieces, I note regular season totals first and then add their playoff numbers. |

Haha, yep, just like the Phillies and the wrong brothers, here are a few:
Ken Brett, instead of George
Jeremy not Jason Giambi
Mark not Al Leiter
I also think we had a DiMaggio not named Joe and probably a few others I am missing... |

Bill oddball question of the day. When Jason Becket was a flyers prospect. Who would you compare him to from the current group? If any at all. |

Flyers got some of the better brother combos:
Eric instead of Brett Lindros
Martin instead of Matthieu Biron
Chris instead of Sean Pronger
James instead of Trevor Van Riemsdyk

Why in the highlights does it say the goal by US is scored on Hart? I'm confused |
