really amazing what ole Marc has been able to do to this team.

Not sure anybody is available down the middle otherwise Sergachev likely would of been dealt for that guy. Drouin is better than Duchene.

But as it stands this is the center ice:

Danault
Pleks
Holland
Mitchell

So after 5 years the biggest hole has yet to be fixed all the while removing Sergachev, Markov, Beaulieu and Subban as puck moving defensemen in favour of defensive minded guys

He was joking that there was a new clause in his contract stipulating that he didn't have to answer questions related to his position anymore... He should've put that clause in there for real.

I hope that works out because it is now all they have to fall on.

But still 8M in cap space. Smells like RNH to me

Hope it works out too. Also, a bounce back year for the turtleneck, or a one-way ticket to Lame Town (where he currently resides)?

I wouldn't trade for him. But I don't run that organization.

I also wouldn't replace Radulov with Hemsky and Markov with Streit/Jerebak

Radulov with Drouin and Markov with Alzner. Beaulieau with Streit/Jerabak. Potentially still a loss but doesn't sound or look as bad.

I dont know if this team is better or worse than last seasons but they are definitely different. A lot hangs on Plek having some bounce-back, Price staying healthy and Drouin providing a 25+ goal season and non-disappearing act in the playoffs. Which leads to Pacioretty in a contract year demonstrating that he can show up in the playoffs and earn serious money.

I think MTL finishes 3rd in division, 6th or 7th in Conference and depending on how this team melds under CJ they can maybe make the ECF at best. Its also going to be a boring team to watch I bet - defense, defense, defense!

Geez, that ain't so bad...

I really hope that Plek wakes the (frank) up, but obviously they shouldn't count on it.

And Drouin better be ready, barely any pressure for our French saviour, right?

Markov was too old so they replaced him with a guy who's a year older...basically.
