Well they didn't really do that though. I do'nt really care either way, I think it's the smart thing to do. But it's hard to argue they were intentionally tanking when their record doesn't even put them in the bottom 3 most years.

I think Eichel is awesome. If I had to chose between him and Matthews, I'd probably take AM. However they are in the same tier....which is below McDavid and Crosby.

All smart teams tank if they are in a position to do so and need to rebuild. That is how great teams typically start.

I have no idea why people argue over tanking. It's literally part of the business. I have no shame in the Leafs tanking for Matthews. Pens fans, Caps fans, Oilers fans, Hawks fans, all should be proud of their franchises for "tanking".

Aside from really wanting it to be untrue, you have no way of knowing that.

My favourite derp is the people who aren't waiting a few months to get confused and attribute all this to crazy Leafs fans... they are confused and blaming Leafs fans for this already when pretty much every Leafs fan comment on the comparison freely admits McDavid is the better player.
