It's an interesting idea. I'm all for it if it's done in the proper way.
If he'd be willing to be a supporting role guy on this team and help the young guys out, I think there's some upside. - Bean_Dip
the thing about AV is though, that even though he may start on the 3rd line - he could end up playing the most minutes. AV usually plays the line that is going. I would have to think that AV would put Jumbo out there in crunch time over Zib or Hayes.
The question for him is do you want to go cross country and play in the East.
I would take that chance. Same with Grigorenko. - JRR1285
I agree. though, who do you play either one of them over? Buch? Vesey? Fast? I only see Buch coming out of the lineup for either of those 2 and I would rather Buch play.
Because if there is a veteran center I would want that fits with this team better, it would be him. - mdw7413
Already over 30, and an in between situation on contract, (too young to take much less, but too old for 4-6 years). Plus I would want more offense for what he would ask for. No offense, (no pun), but I would have just kept Stepan than take t
the chances of any offer sheet being matched is about 98.9 percent
since there aren't any real good UFA's to spend money on this summer, why not throw one out and see what happens.
I just think Draistatl would be a waste of time more than anyone else - jimbo83
GMs just sat back and watched the Lightning work themselves out of a cap mess. Imagine the poop theyd be in if someone offersheeted Kucherov to a big contract
Well they want to change the leadership of the team how about 1 year deal to both Jumbo and Marleau.
Line would be
Nash Jumbo Marleau - bigrod79
Not for nothing, but if you did something like that, and things weren't going well, then you could sell off at the deadline for assets.
If the Rangers want picks for a rebuild, and they want to stay competitive, signing veterans that would be valuable assets at the deadline if things aren't going well is smart.

That is certainly a valid question. Not really sure though.
They could take spots if someone like Miller is traded away for help on D or something along those lines.
He really would be a perfect fit for them. - Slimtj100
Except for his speed. That's the only thing in question. And it's a serious thing to be in question. I think you play to your strengths and you figure out a way to make it work.
different debate, (and opinion), but I love getting him, the D needs someone that can run the PP, (he will do better than most), join the offense, move the puck out to breaking wingers, he can help add production to some of the wingers stats.
Not at $7m per though, hopefully lower. - puckhead17
how many times has this been said in the last 15 years. we gotta quit chasing this mythical creature!

i agree. But they have to be willing to call it when they arent going to make a big push in the playoffs.

And the reason why some guys gel on certain teams, but cannot on others. a team with a dump & chase, physical grinding style would suit him definitely. Not so sure if how he would do in a speed transition style?
